Hey Cataract, thanks for stopping the other day, it was great hanging with you, and the Drummer sounds great. Gonna be an SS for me. Ok, so no R-R-R-R!!!! on the street for next year; that sounds reasonable and valid but? How about taking the lessons learned from the RR and applying them to existing production? "Maybe" larger valves, flowed head design, slightly larger exhaust, larger or duel throttle bodies, remapped tunning. I'm sure this could net 15 ponies on the top end-"cheap", and would be a great marketing victory and generally very cool for Buell. All they need to up the pot for 2007, a major leap, That would not take one part from the RR. What was the biggest issue with the 2005 and privious-(Trans?)FIXED. Biggest request now? I haven't taken a scientific survey, but from what I've been able to figure, it would be keeping the existing TQ and adding a few good ponys to the top end. This I think will be 2007. Just incase anybody was wondering what I was thinking. And, Thank you for listening |

What I want to know is: A) Is the new 8 piston caliper a bolt-on for existing XB models? B) if it is, will it be available for street bikes. C) How much? and when can I get it? |

M1, You're kidding right? I love the XB, but there is no way in hell it would stay with the 749R in the canyons with an equal rider. The XB is a lot more friendly though and the Duc is a torture rack when the riding gets slow. Plus the Buell pulls better wheelies The XBR does allow a higher lean angle stock though-I bent my shifter on the Duc a couple of weeks ago. |

Remember, the R has around 115 rwhp with the race kit, weighs the same as the XB, but has suspension like the XBRR. Well I am thinking that they will go for more power and another new model. They fixed the belt problems, updated the frame, fixed the trans and clutch pull. I can't really see any other way to go except more power and trying to drop 15 to 20 pds off the bike with carbon and magnesium parts for the motor.. |

As a Buell and Ducati 999 owner i can tell you there is no place that my XB12 can keep up to a 749 or 999. Straight line, curves, and braking the XB gets destroyed. The XB is still a great bike and fun to ride. Just don`t go start to compare it to race replics, its not in the same league. |

The fact is, you're going to go faster on whatever you're more comfortable on. I love my old Honda Hawk GT because I can fly on it. It has NO power, NO brakes, and handles like crap, but it's not intimidating to ride fast. Race replica bikes scare me. I like a bike that is my equal or I'm better than. It's always more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow.... |

This is not going to help you guys, not to sleep anyway. But I saw someone on another board claiming to have had a dealer spill the beans to him of a street going RR w/ 125 HP for summer. I'd take it with several grains of salt & consider it BS at this point. |

My vote for an 07 model is an XB9X. Not a City-X, but a real Uly 9'er. I sat on a Uly for the first time at the Minneapolis IMS, and it felt like home away from home. The seating position was so perfect I almost didn't want to get off of it. However, I am not real fond of the 12 motor. The 9 motor would probably be easier to use in the dirt too. A square or over square 12 would have all the nice smooth characteristics & redline of the 9. I'd love to see something like that in the Firebolts. Hell, I'd like to see that in all of them. |
