Hey Roly, be careful with those frame sliders...johnparts on this site used them, dropped his bike and they snapped his engine mount (bad design), but your bike looks sweet, great job!!! |

Just picked up this 96 S1. Only 2700 miles on the clock and tons of mods. I think I'm going to have to remove the clip-ons though, they are pretty extreme. Still some great deals to be had out there! Hodakaguy

Hodakaguy, How much did you pay for that S1? Wow! There are a lot of nice parts on that bike. What brand of brakes are those on the front? What a score!!!!!!

Thanks, You probably won't believe this but I got it for $4250. The guy that built it owned a body shop and built it as a show bike and displayed it at his business, he needed some money a couple years ago and sold it to his brother who bought it mainly as a favor. Then his brother listed it for sale since he never really rode it either. He advertised it for $5500 and came down to $4250, I had to wait two days to pick it up and I was worried he would change his mind or sell it to someone else before I got there. I felt a lot better after it was secured in the back of my truck for the trip home! Not sure on the rotors, the calipers are polished PM's. Here's a couple more pics of the brakes and bars. I was actually looking for a vintage scooter (Vespa) for my wife when I ran across the ad for the S1, he had it advertised on the Craigs List. I do not know what to say... I am almost speechless. You have made the best buy in motorcycling history. Maybe that is downplaying it a little. Unbelievable. (obligatory picture)

Looks like he loaded it up with all the bells and whistles. Damn I love that thing! Looks brand new. Any plans to do anything other than a possible handlebar swap? |

Those clip ons are pretty low, but if you are just planning on riding it around town and not long distances, I would leave them on. I bet they make for a WICKED riders stance when you are on the bike. Any chance of getting a picture of you riding the bike? |

Other than changing the bars (I'm going to ride it like this for a while) I'm going to remove the spin-on oil cooler and add a Spurgin Cooler. I have the Spurgin on my other S1 but since I bought this one I'm selling that bike to a friend and told him I won't strip parts off it. Besides that there really isn't anything that I want to add to it, when I picked it up a couple weeks ago it had the full size inner rear fender and I trimmed it down. I never have liked red S1's but the color is growing on me, I may re-paint it some day. I still can't believe that someone built a bike like this and never rode it. It will have a lot more miles on the odometer come the end of summer :-) I don't have any pics of me on the bike, when a get some I'll post one up. There is a list of all the mods done to the bike in my profile. Thanks for the comments. Hodakaguy (Message edited by Hodakaguy on February 06, 2006) |

Well done! The rotors are PM "race" rotors that were available for quite some time. It's a very capable setup. The rearsets are unique - I've not seen anything like them before. No go out and get a little road grime on that thing! =) |

Is that a different front fender? (pic below is me on a pre-production Blast at Homecoming)

I've had a couple requests for pictures of the rear sets. I'll post a couple small ones here and if anyone want's bigger pics just e-mail me. The front fender is a Ducati unit, I didn't like the looks of it when I first saw it in the pictures but in person I think it looks pretty good. Here's a better picture of the fender for you. Sorry for taking up so much space with pics. Just need some good weather now :-) Hodakaguy
