I’m back! After being without a Buell for almost 2 years, I was able to talk Kevin in St. Louis into selling me his S2T. I’m very excited about it. I have missed the Buell ever since I sold my S3T back in 2004. This bike already has almost all the “extras” I would want to add so all I have to do, is some minor TLC, and its ready to ride. One thing I will be looking for, is the “kit” Buell made to install S3T bags on the S2T. I know I have the part numbers somewhere in my old Buell files, and will post a “want to buy” ad when I locate that info. In the meantime, if any of you know where one is, please let me know. Thanks, John Calhoun St. Louis, Mo. |

Hi John Welcome back, and congratulations on your excellent choice in picking an S2 For the bag kit, I would suggest getting the bags and possibly the bracket used and then buy the mounting kit piece-meal. There are a few *very* expensive pieces of wire and even more expensive SS clamps that you may as well get/make yourself. That'll save you some $75-100 over buying the whole kit. Oh, and if you decide to mount the turn signals as the kit suggests, make sure you reinforce the fender from the inside (I used thin SS stock), otherwise you risk ripping a hole in the fender (don't ask). Even better, there were recently a discussion here for mounting the turn signals in the "vent holes" in the tail section - looks great and wasn't a big project. Henrik |

Henrick, Thanks! I still had the installation sheets for the saddle bag conversion kit that you had sent me several years ago so I was able to look up part numbers. (I throw nothing away that pertains to motorcycles). I think I will have to buy the bracket from Buell and buy some used bags. Dave, Yep. I have all the old body parts too. The original fairing is broken from a fall, but all the rest are in good order except for a scuff on the left lid. I finally got a bike I can work on. (that FJR never needs any thing but gas and oil) I called DaveS today. The main saddlebag bracket for the conversion is still available from Buell. I was suprised. Cost $402!!! I also ask what the complete kit cost. I cant count that high. |

Big J: I have a set of molded inner bags (Deep) from my 99' S3T that I could let you have for a VERY reasonable price. Let me know. Neil S. |

Neil, I doubt that I will go with the deep bags. I never needed more than the standard bags before. If I do, I will certainly call you. By the way, which HID kit did you end up using in the ST? The kit I was getting did not work too well on high beam with the FJR reflector. You can answer on the HSTA St. Louis site if you want since this is not Buell related. Or maybe not. Perhaps some here might be interested in HID for their bike. Thanks, John |

V2,welcome back. Was that the S-2T of Kevyn Lacostella? Very annoyed to say the least if it is,no fault of yours, though. I had thought I was the new owner at one time, money had changed hands, and shipping arrangements were made.Kevyn begged off at the last moment saying it was too hard to let go.I was bummed but could understand. But if it is indeed now sold----well words escape me. |

Jim, Kevin and his wife recently took a new jobs working in a circus. He gets tied down on a big wheel and his wife throws knives between his legs as he spins around. The other day, I got off work early and decided to suprise my girlfriend with a visit. Well, there was Kevin to my suprise, doing things to her that she would never let me do. I explained to him that if he did not sell me his S2T, I would tell his wife as soon as she got out of the hospital from having the twins. The thought of him spinning around with his wife throwing those knives got the best of him. I also told my girlfriend that unless she let me do some of the things I saw, she was out the door too. |

Bbd, I remember them talking about lots of titanium in the valve train (pushrods and valves I think) at the BBQ in Dallas. That plus the short stroke would be the main reasons that it can pull off the high RPMs without self destructing. |

Yo Blake... Is the DC Brag site still around? They had a great "how to" piece on swapping out XB rockers on a XL motor. I clicked on the links section, and got nada.. If you got any further info, that would be great. Thanks brother.. |

I'm going through stuff and cleaning out old magazines and such. Would 3 year of Cycle World, Sport Rider, Road Racing World and Fly Rod & Reel - years 2002 - April 2005 be something I should send to the troops in Iraq? If so, any info on where and how to send this out? Do we have any Badwebbers down there that'd be interested? Henrik |

Hello everyone. Just wanted to say that the info here has been great. I am having a bit of trouble searching and navigating though, as this forum is very different from others I visited. Was just wondering if someone could help me find a post that contained a link with sound files to listen to an exhaust. It may have been a Drummer thread, but can't find it. BTW, buying an XB12Ss this week. Will have alot more to add to the group when I get it. In the mean time, I have just been soaking up the info here. |
