I didn't remove the post, Peter. But we do have a policy that doesn't allow non-sponsor advertizing. It's a tough thing to actually identify because we don't want to keep someone from talking about their bike or their favorite supplier, even if that supplier is not a sponsor. It's in place so we can honor and single out our sponsors and help them get business, which helps us stay alive. The policy is one that really has to be understood and felt by everyone who participates on Badweb. If everyone knows the spirit of the rule, then they should be able to voice their thoughts, but at the same time stay away from out-of-bounds activity, like directing that folks use those sponsors or singing an over-done operatic praise of a non-sponsor that amounts to directing folks to use a non-sponsor. This is the type of thing that Court has been doing and it has been done purposely and even sarcastically. Blake has voiced his concerns and his concerns have been run over. The non-sponsor in question is hostile to Blake and Badweb. Whether anyone thinks he has a right to be is besides the point. In strife among groups sides get chosen. Some former friends of Blake have chosen sides and picked up stones as well. That's unfortunate and it isn't going to be allowed to continue. It brings down the site. |

"Personally, I'd love to see all this just go away, and Aaron come back, and everything be as it once was." Me too... I looked towards Aaron's posts just about as eagerly as the anony posts that seemed to come from the top. No offense to anyone else (who are still sponsors, but that's not why I intend no offense ) but the current sponsors don't seem quite as willing to just plain jump in and offer their words of wisdom as Aaron used to. I'm very sure that they are capable, so I assume that it's due to time being scarce. |

Well - on the issue of current sponsors chiming in, I feel compelled to relay a recent experience I had with one of our sponsors - I called Al at American Sport Bike to check in on my stock ECM that is being re-mapped to what appear to be ever-improving curves. I asked a simple question or two about the process and he proceeded to take the next 50 minutes out of his day (no exaggeration, my phone lists call duration) to explain to me the ECM 101 of Buell XB's. Open Loop/Closed Loop, their inter-relationship, optimum mixtures in closed loop, ECM tables, 14.7, 13.5, advance, overlap, linear response pipes, decel tables and their manipulation of popping at high rpm, low throttle, etc, etc, on and on. I just tried to listen very hard. To have a guy who obviously has plenty to do take significant time to explain this stuff to a customer who he has never really worked with before impressed the hell out of me. I hope he doesn't do it too often, as he'll never get much done, but I felt like it was service above and beyond to have such personal attention. Seems like he posts a fair bit too and is partly responsible for some pretty significant advances in this ECM mapping stuff, from which many of us will soon benefit, and he has been explaining it as its been happening for a while now. So anyway, I wasn't active when Aaron was, and I am not trying to compare, but I did think it was appropriate to give Al a big thumbs up for his presence on the site and on the phone. Now don't anybody call him for a week or two. Let him concentrate on my ECM, and then flood him with your stuff once mine is in the mail. Thnx - |

Sorry... I wasn't directing that towards Al at all . I've put too many miles on my bike with him in tow (or towing) and he's class A all the way. I was referring to the engine builder sponsors specifically. Again though, I meant no offense. They are VERY busy this time of year at the least. |

Ya think Peter is still using a bat to beat his wife? That was a question too. How do you like it? Stop being a jackass, "mate." |

Alex, No worries. Not your doing at all. I hope you got some value from the non-crap posts. Sorry for the hijacking of your thread. |

Blake, Please look beyond the words, to the style of writing and understand why it's written so. Sucks a bit when the shoe's on the other foot, doesn't it? Mate |
