Lots of people seemed to have advance information on the XBRR so do any of those people or others know anything about what we may see for 07???? Or did I miss all the hot rumors? |

My bet, you will see the same stuff. RR parts are too new to make it as a '07 model. Needs a good year of shakedown and testing on the race circut. And a bunch of longetivity testing before those parts will be found on a street bike. |

I wonder if they've even got as much as a styling change in mind for 07 even if the RR's go fast parts won't be ready. I love my 9R the way it is but the model started in 02...it's due for some freshening up I think...as long as it keeps the same appeal. They likely wouldn't re-style the bike one year only to release the new motor, etc. the next. Probably get a completely new bike all at once I guess. |

If they're putting that engine in the Daytona... You can bet it's made it through some VERY stressful testing regimes... |

If they're putting that engine in the Daytona... You can bet it's made it through some VERY stressful testing regimes... That engine is race ready but a very long way from being street ready, or even street likely. A big part of making it spin so fast is very expensive internal parts that will make a street version too expensive. |

Dave, never underestimate what an enthusiast will pay for a motorcycle.Look at the Ducati 999's or Paul Smart Specials or the MH.Or the BMW GS HP.or--you get my drift.I can see selling a really great Buell for 15-20k,hell I paid 15,000 for my S-2 new when all the tax etc was added up.In 1995 dollars. |

Just to reiterate what Davegess said, Eric told everyone at the dealer's dinner that "there are no plans to make a street version of the RR". He went on to say that all the RRs have been sold and the remaining parts are replacements for anything busted during the races. Thats not to say that there won't be one someday... who knows. But nothing about this bike is street legal. Even the rims are not D.O.T. approved... so yeah if it makes it to the street, its a long way off. |

This is what I need to know ,I just passed up a deal on a 12R at my local dealer because I'm thinking that they might have something new coming out this year after the win at Daytona. So if anyone knows the skinny Let's hear the skinny. |

2kx1, Anyone in a position to actually know anything is not in a position to tell anything... We face the same connundrum every year, and simply put, you'll be depriving yourself of ridetime for the wait. There will always be something newer/better, "someday". |

I know that , but can someone just tell me to "maybe you should wait till July " or not. The 12X nearly killed me last year!!!!!!!! |

No one who knows will tell you anything. If someone DOES tell you anything... They don't know . |

2kx1 Buy it, ride it. You will pass up a whole summer of riding andif there is anythign really new you will pay a premium anyways |

I feel your pain 2kx1. As soon as you buy it they'll release a new model. But if you don't, you miss a good deal and riding time. So my solution. As nice of a bike Buell may or may not introduce this year, is it worth passing up a good deal now + the riding time. Most likely not. So just buy the bike now and then in a few years upgrade. }Plus if you buy it know the rest of us get to see the new model. |

Nothing major for 2007, just more of the same high quality with refinements. |

"with refinements." Hmmmm.... |

Yea, going from 1200cc to 1350cc could certainly be considered a "refinement"... |

It seems that the Japanese companies make major styling and mechanical changes/updates to their bikes every couple of years. Does Buell not do this to the same degree because of cost or because Erik doesn't see any reason to mess with a good thing? And yes, I know there have been improvements made to the XB models over the past few years but nothing extensive. |

Ns, I would guess what your definition of extensive is. Engine wise, yeah. I agree, they need to up the hp on it or something. XB13R would be nice. I'm not going to hold my breath. Model wise, they have had some pretty big changes with that. They did change the transmition for the better along with some other refinements. I would think the next thing for them will be more hp. We'll just have to wait and see. We can sit here and speculate and get all worked up until July and some who let themselves get really worked up will be complaining again come July. Or we can just wait and see. End result is Buell is still a small company. They work with what they got. I myself can say I'm impressed overall with how they've been doing so. Give them time. I can't see them sitting on their rears right now. Not with their release of the XBRR. |

I would think that the 2008 models would be where we should look for changes. A year of racing with this platform by Buell could lead to any "needed" revisions. |

I wouldn't mind seeing a long version of the 12R... but just for my 6' frame, and more gas stores.... |

To chime in here, and sort of highjack the thread a little bit, I waited last year and I'm glad I did. I really liked the 12s, but I heard the rumors about the Long, so I held out and haven't looked back. The bike has everything I was looking for and more...and the price wasn't as bad as it could have been. Although I keep telling myself that if I hadn't bought the Ss, I would have certainly dug a little deeper into my wallet and bought a S4R, I don't know if I would have been as happy with the Duc. IMO, waiting is a crap shoot, but some guys like taking chances!! Dan |

More accessories please! Such as a removable touring faring / windshield and hard bags for the XB bikes. How about factory cylinder heads and cam kit to go with the already popular race kit? The possibilities are endless, we are loyal customers with too much money to spend!! |

"Nothing major for 2007, just more of the same high quality with refinements." Pretty disappointing. Especially when I hear that Erik indicated no street RR version. I guess the EPA emissions/noise and Dot regs mean the RR stuff is a long way out. Hopefully they at least put the 8-pot calipers on the 07 bikes. Just when I think maybe I should have waited, my 749R purchase is validated again. Too bad. Hopefully light_keeper's post has some truth to it and Buell is just keeping secrets again... |

"Just when I think maybe I should have waited, my 749R purchase is validated again." I should probably leave that alone, but how can this validate the purchase of a bike that IN MY OWN HUMBLE AND CERTAINLY MIS-INFORMED opinion is an inferior bike? Please don't take offense to that , I'm really just curious as "I" see the 749 as a less capable canyon carver. Canyon carving being the reason "I" ride motorcycles... |

Granted I haven't been able to throw a leg over a buell yet and the bench racer in me would love to have a bike with a caliper that powerful on the bike, but will it really propel me over the bars any faster then the stock caliper.... |

No, but you'll be able to modulate just exactly how quickly you lose sight of the gages just a HAIR better and the caliper will be cooler to the touch just as you lose your front teeth... |
