I recently removed my inner fender and tail section for some cosmetic work. When I was looking to put the fender back on I noticed an unconnected Oil line This is P/N 62352-94B TO OIL PUMP it is connected at the top of the tranny housing below the starter and is routed off to the right side of the bike. It is not wrapped like the other lines that come from the tank to the pump.. I can not find where this line would connect or lay if left unconnected. I did not notice when things were removed... I does not look like it has clamp marks in the unconnected end... I think it was lying loose before i removed things b/c it has hole worn in it where the belt has rubbed... I did not notice any excess oil leakage but my oil does seem a bit lower. I removed the battery and unbolted the oil tank to move it some and I cannot for the life of me see where this would have connected. As I see it there are only three exits from the tank but 4 lines (the vent hose and the drain line are together) When I looked at the oil pump (near the muffler under the chin fairing... right???) It looked to be all connected also. ????? I'm confused.... help | ||

I believe that would be the primary case vent. my 01 X-1 line is routed up the right-hand side of the tailpiece, and just ends up in there. | ||

yep, crank vent. don't route in so it is aiming at your rear tire just in case you get a crank seal leak | ||

It's the primary vent, not the crank vent. The crank only (supposed to) vent out of the heads. Make sure that it is routed up high like it was when it came from the factory. | ||
