does anyone blame him after the ranting that went on in that post above... besides, they are his parts, he doesnt have to offer them here first. although as nice as it would be, they are his. i offer mine up here first before they go to ebay... i give it a good week here, get some guys some parts if they show genuine interest and some money, then I move them on to ebay... some do, some dont. Buellriderm2, good luck with your parts on ebay... NO------> |

Hey Guys, Sorry about the fact that I didn't list these items here on Badweb first, but I'm selling all of the Buell take off items for a customer who's in a tight spot for money and the bay seemed like the quickest route to put some green in his pocket before his lights go out. As for those that would question what happened to the Buell these parts came from, or might try to attack my intentions, I say go look at my profile and see the registration date. I bought my first Buell in 1999 while I was still starving away putting myself through college. I completely built the Buell presense at High Country H-D/Buell as their Buell brand manager for two years and turned it into one of the best Buell shops in the Rocky Mountain West. I represented Buell two years running in their corporate booth at the International Motorycle Show by Cycleworld, oh and I even rounded up a fleet of freebie loaner bikes for a bunch of stranded Elves one time. That one even got me a personal thank you call from EB himself. So yeah I make a living choppin' a few unwanted, unappreciated or wrecked tubers, mostly out of the frustration that they're not worth the sum of their parts. So flame on if ya gotta, but at least now you know who your words are pointed at. Later, Justin |

Why didn't you offer them here first? Because from experience, you list the prices you think are fair, people than low ball you, and since you figure its going to help another Bueller, you agree, than you tell them the shipping price and that gets questioned Sometime's its just easier, and ebay is painless, problems from time to time, but painless Sorry, but it happened to me, several times, ebay is easy R |

Justin, I realize you live in a rural area and the job prospects there probably aren't the best. Thusly I understand why bastardizing Buells looks like a good way to make a living. But there are better ways to make a living than bottom feeding in the cheapy chopper market. If you're a good mechanic with some fabricating ability, have you considered rebuilding industrial, construction, or railroad equipment? The customers in those businesses are used to paying big bucks for repairs, and if you can fix their stuff for less than $100 an hour they'll send plenty more business your way. If you insist in staying in the bike biz with it's low wages and finicky customers, why not build something instead of bastardize? Have you noticed that the demand for sidecars and trikes is growing, with every manufacturer backordered for months? And have you noticed that nobody is making a sidecar or trike conversion for tubers? There's your market- and instead of destroying bikes you could be adapting them so disabled and elderly folks could still enjoy the pleasure of motorcycling. And BTW- before you trash a tuber why don't you post it for sale here- I'm in the market for tubers, but a basket case without a frame isn't worth much to me. You might also try the BMW boards and lists like the airheads- with BMW parts getting scarce and pricey Buells are looking tempting to those riders. |

I think we can see why so many folks have stopped listing parts on this board . . . |

Thanks Lowflyer, and thanks to everyone that's checked out the parts I've got listed. Hey Don, good to see your name friend. I hope all is still well for you on the western slope. You pop for a Ulysses yet? Seems like your sort of bike, and unlike me you're actually tall enough to ride the damn thing. Hope our paths cross again soon! Take care of yourself. Larry and Tim, thanks for the support boys. Oddly enough I'm not with the alluded to Buell performance outfit anymore. Left on good terms and with a good replacement, so you're all still in good hands. It's been very good though and business is booming for me, to the point I couldn't have been doing both much longer just for simple lack of time. Having two little girls at home to raise gives me enough grey hair, 80 hours a week for much longer would have probably put me in the grave. As for Buell Grrrl, I think I smell a snake or perhaps a wolf in sheep's clothing. Maybe someone posing as someone they're not to spit venom they normally wouldn't have the spine to spit. As it were though, I do gladly live in a rural area, but believe me I don't do what I do for lack of job prospects or opportunity, nor do I rely on the local economy or biking community to support me, even though I did build two bikes for locals last year with another currently in the works. Last year (my first year in business) I sold parts to exactely 510 different customers haling from every state minus North Dakota and Rhode Island, as well as customers in Japan, Austrailia, Denmark, Sweden, Great Britain, Germany, Spain, Canada, Mexico oh yeah and some guy from France. Street Chopper and Ironworks Magazines saw fit to feature my work, and Street Chopper is poised to tap us again here in the new year as they follow my first XB conversion project. As for working on farm equipment and industrial machinery, if I wanted to do something boring and mundane I'd dust off my Journalism degree and go back to the newspaper business. I do what I do because I love what I do, and because I'm good at what I do, it's turned into a healthy living for me to support my family with. So I'll gladly keep "bottom feeding," "bastardizing," and "trashing" away, thanks for the extra motivation. Later, Justin
