Anyone have any recommendations for a set of lower bars for an X-1? I really don't want to go as low as clip on, just a few inches lower to clear an aftermarket fairing. The crossroads are almost as low as clip-on, and for the price, I'd rather just do the clip-ons to get a better hand position. I know that the stock rise is about 4 1/2 inches, so I'm looking for something along the lines of 2 inches. Anyone have any experience on the clubman style bars on an x-1 or tube frame? how low do they really make you feel and how is the riding (sore back, pressure on the wrists?) Thanks!! |

I know it's a bit late, but I just installed a set of Renthal Ultra-lows on my XB and love it! I used the same bars on my 1200 bandit and they were perfect on it too. Come in colors and are nice and light. Got mine from David at streetfightersbydesign.com Good luck! About 3" high, 29" wide, 3 3/4" pullback. TK |

I like inverted clubmans on my X1. They don't show up very well on the picture on my profile but I find them to be very comfortable. |

Keep in mind that if you go too low and too far forward with any style of handlebar, the brake reservoir will hit the flyscreen unless the bars are very wide. To get my Crossroads down to a comfortable width, I had to trim the flyscreen on my M2. |

DJ, as far as the brake reservoir, I'm not too worried as the main purpose for me to get the lower bars is to clear my Eurocomponents fairing (I scored 1 of the last production pieces a while back and am finally trying to get around to putting it on this winter). I know that I will more than likely need to go with a remote reservoir type setup. Steve, how far forward are your clubmans? do you really lean over that much? and how is the ride over long distances? |

Well, just an update I found my new bars, ordered them and put them on. They are 4-way adjustable clubman bars. I found them here: http://www.rearsets.info/sw2.html They look great on the old X-1 here are some pics: The best parts is I can set them to ride low for running fast and hard, then with a 10mm allen wrench and some other hand tools (for the controls), I can flip them around and be 2 inches lower than stock with the same pullback. I haven't really road tested them, but on my stands they fit well, clear my tank and are also 2 inches wider than stock for more leverage. These are just a thought to those looking for a different bar setup.. Karl |

Anyone have any recommendations for taller handlebars for an S1 Lightning?? Are there any websites out there that give handlebar dimensions??? The stock bars seem alittle low. Long rides are alittle rough on the wrist, (especially with a passenger.) Any help appreciated. Thanks! |
