Is 154 mph going to be fast enough for Formula FX? I always thought they went faster that that. I'd guess that's with the standard final gearing which would be suitable for most FX tracks. For Daytona perhaps they'll run a taller final drive for more top speed? |

Yeah... They'll gear it so first does about 100 or so. That way first will be usefull . |

It might be better to guess at top speed based on HP rather than the gear ratios of stock XBs. After all, it does have a final chain drive which permits some variability based on conditions. |

My guess is 185-190. My other guess is that the bikes running at Daytona will be tuned for more power than what's reported here. My guess for those bikes is about 188-193. |

I know a person who is capable of calculating, as opposed to "guessing, top speeds. Time and experience bear witness to his craft. His name is lhl;hjlktjpyjfoiugnjfdsgbshfspoknbgfvSc *****we interrupt this broadcast....... |

It's not me... That was my best guess. I'll need a drag co-efficient if you want anything else. |

In my ever tiring quest to find out about the whole McWilliams connections - I came across a post that has info about Pascal Picotte riding one in the Canadian series. It doesn't make sense and is probably most definite BS, but at least this bike is generating buzz all over the place. http://speedzilla.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14840&page=1&pp=10 McWilliams? |

From what I've read on RoadRacing World's website, it appears that they definitely had the scoop (not suprisingly) on this thing prior to Buell's official release. They supposed to have the back story on its developments in their next issue. Should be an interesting read. Has anyone heard when we should expect to see some track testing time of this beast. it would be interesting to read some post by Rich Cronrath and Terry Galagan concerning this bikes release and their teams plans. Still seeing the complaining and moaning on other sites about the displacement. I think some forget. This bike redlines at 8500 while the I4's redline at 17,000+. Get over it. Oh, could someone post up the specs for say... Yamaha's Formula FX bike. I'm curious to see how they compare. I'm still a bit ignorant to the racing world. What does riding for England mean? Is he riding in an English series? I'm not sure this thing would qualify for Canada's Thunder series- possibly with the detuned engine accesories. I still would like to see official press releases. Interesting rumors though. I still don't see Pascal running the Buell, but I would love to see him on it. |

He rode it during the Firebolt's development phase, and he was featured on a video on the Buell website with Trip Nobles and Dave Estok praising the bike when it came out in 02. |

José, nice to hear from the voice of reason. I think Pascal was still employed by the Mothership at that time. Since then he has been quite successful racing Yamahas with his own race team in Canada. I would like nothing more than to see him race the XBRR, I just don't see it happening. If he were to race it, it better be in the AMA so we can see him race again. |

I was wondering the same thing... If there's a PTO and possibly a belt pulley there you could use it to drive a super charger. I can't imagine anything else that would make sense to be there... |

Cool bike, but $31,000 ,$24,000 buys you a Ducati 999S that puts out 143hp and is street legal,a 999R is $31,000 and puts out 150hp and is street legal, but I don't know how either of these bikes would hold up racing..I hope this bike does well this year in all classes it races in.
