Easy there Rocketman. Art, If you talk to him, please tell Brian I said "hello." Same for Pammy and Wes. |

I'm indifferent about the sponsorship and could heartily recommend either Cycle Rama or NRHS. "Being" a sponsor is a "good thing", but it is not a determining factor in the quality of work or the character of the folks behind the work. I'd trust Aaron Wilson or Wes Brown with a blank check and any bike I own. Court |

Art, HERE's another recent thread much along the same topic. Start with the archived page first. And to add to what Court said, I'd trust the folks at Cycle Rama (Wes and Pammy Brown and their crew) and the folks at Revolution Performance with a blank check and the one-and-only bike I own. They might not trust my check though. (Message edited by blake on January 17, 2006) |

It's not sad at all Tripp. Those amongst us who know some of the finer details should quit recommending non sponsors openly on BadWeB, no matter how good their work is. That is in line with the boards policy, and those responsible for such shouldn't do it. Blake, you need to accept ? will never return to the BadWeB on good terms so you should make your position clear. This has been the voice of good reason. Here end'th the sermon. Rocket |

Okay, After reading all you posts I am almost sorry I asked. Just kidding, anyway I have talked to NRHS and Revolution so far, tomorrow Cycle Rama. A couple of questions, first cam size, it has been suggested anywhere from 535 screamin' eagle to 585 red line, also can the DDFI handle the horsepower boost? I also have a Power Commander installed. Just looking for suggestions from you guys who have already done it. Thanks again, Art..... |

Art: DDFI can handle about 120 RWHP, then you need to start upsizing the throttle body, injectors, and possibly the fuel pimp. Ping us at RacingComputers.com and we will be glad to share our "personal" experience with you. Ride safe |

Art, I used 585 Redshifts in my S1W. I like the way they make power a lot. My engine was a combination of NRHS and CycleRama parts. Don't let the animosity of some people on this site confuse you. Aaron(NRHS) and Wes(CycleRama) are both good people and both know their stuff. I'm with Court, I'd also have no trouble giving a blank cheque to either of them. |

Art, Based on the information I've seen, for a 1250cc configuration the SE 536 grind cams and the Red Line 585's are both proven performers with the SE 536 cams being more economical (read lower price) and offering a bit better low end but not quite as optimum high end compared to the red line 585's. Depends what you want. If you are going for an 88" or 90" big bore configuration, then the higher lift 585 cams are probably a better choice to help fill those bigger cylinders. Be sure to tell the folks what kind of engine you want.

Pete, Where do you see ANY animosity being expressed here? Move along mate; nothing to see or make of here; just folks trying to help Art and return the favor to the folks who are enthusiastic about supporting Buell motorcyclists and this board. So, please don't promote non-sponsors here. We tell that to all the folks on account of its a board policy. Has nothing to do with anything personal whatsoever. Capice? |

Like I said before...it's like when Mom & Dad would fight. Ya really didn't care what it was about, you just wanted it to stop because it was destructive. I admire the apparent clarity and honest assessment of Rocket, Court, Tripper and Peter. Sometimes it's what is not written that has the strongest message. Oh and Blake--I trust the some of the folks posting above received the same request you previously sent to me? DAve |

I was not going to approach this at all. I would love to be like Al Lighton and Dave Stueve, but alas, I have estrogen flowing through my veins and cannot keep my mouth shut nor my fingers idle.(I apologize in ernest and in advance for my above sexist remark.) I will say that I know for a fact that Blake has(and rightfully so) a sore spot in regards to the way he was treated by a former sponsor. I can also say for a fact that this thread does not demonstrate, in my opinion, any animosity on Blake's part in regards to that. For example: I personally asked Blake on a few occasions to allow certain non-sponsor activity in the past. (activity not related to the above posts) He's a bulldog like that. I see it as Blake's loyalty to those (sponsors) who PAY to help maintain this site. As far as I know, none of the CURRENT sponsors ask Blake for that constancy, but I can assure you, we all appreciate it. If anyone would like further extrapolation and/or detail please feel free to contact me directly and end this on line, splenetic, discussion. Art, I do hope to hear from you. But what ever you decide is purely up to YOU. No hard feelings at all. I am sure the folks at Revolution feel the same way. We are here to help YOU. What you want and or need is what is most important. So please just ignore all this other internet flotsam. |

Nobody here is any better than Blake in terms of being removed from personal feelings. Personal feelings are driving both sides of this discussion. You can challenge Blake's position if you want, but it is board policy regardless. You guys ought to get off his back. Your "side" is no more valid than his. Rocket, I think you summed it up pretty well. |

>>>>Rocket, I think you summed it up pretty well. I agree. Hence, the reason I made it a point not to recommend anyone. I have, as I have in the 12 years I have written about Buells on the internet, shared my PERSONAL experience with my PERSONAL bike. Being a "Badweb Sponsor" neither qualifies nor excludes any firm from earning my business. All I want in my motorcycle worked on and the work done right. I needn't align all my personal planets, religious, moral, political and geographic, with any person or firm to do that. There...ya see, it's that simple. |

<sigh> BadWeB does not allow promotion of non-sponsors. I'm surprised that anyone who is familiar with that policy could imply that I am not being honest concerning the issue. We don't allow promotion of non-sponsors here. That is an accurate statement. Period. Any personal feelings I may have are entirely irrelevant in the matter. I promise that that is an accurate statement as well. There is no animosity being expressed here by me, at least not intentionally, and I'm pretty much a say what I mean kinda guy. Anyone who doesn't know that, doesn't know me. I don't beat around the bush. If I wanna be hostile and express animosity towards someone, I will do so clearly and unmistakably; there will be no doubt in anyone's mind that I am expressing animosity; count on it. That is an incredibly accurate statement. Dave, I've just now logged on, not sure to what request you are referring. Please remind me. |

Fuel Pimp...Hmmm. New name for the Gas Stations? Blake, let well enough alone. Opinions may vary and it's been covered. Did ever tell you guys how I discovered that rags soaked in deck sealer can spontaneously combust? No I didn't burn my house down, but it sure got my attention. |
