I have 3500 miles since the end of September. So far the only problems have been a rusting muffler and a rattling horn. Things I have Changed: added Tour Pack and Bags added additional Driving lights changed to Corbin Seat (thanks Eor) changed air box cover to the KickAsh color wind protection over the handguards Cee Bailey 16" windshield on order from Daves

Just got mine..only 60+- miles so far. My only problem is bad weather and a lack of time to ride right now. Been looking at options for lights.. can you provide some details on your light set up and maybe a few more pics? |

2700 miles. Not a single problem (that wasn't self-inflicted). |

If God had of meant for Ulys to be orange he would have made the tour bags that colour! |

Got mine on Sept. 29th and have 5800+ miles now. Current problem: Pinging when engine is good and warm. Current non-problem: Headshake when decelerating from 50-40mph. Not noticeable unless hands are off the bars. |

500 or so miles. got a check engine light today. i pulled back into the parking space and shut it down. waited a few seconds and fired it up again,no light this time. i might go looking for loose connections. went another 50 miles with no problems. |

Larryboy - I got a check engine light (in the first 1000 miles or so) when I would stop for gas or something and then would start back up after only a couple of minutes. It turned out to be an exhaust valve fault. I believe it would bind up. However, after a while it stopped happening. Now when I start it up when it is still hot, I can actually hear the servo motor cycle. |

I would be dollars to donuts you have a problem with the exhaust servo. Does the light come on when you twist the throttle and sometimes when cold starting. Take it to the dealer and have them make sure. I had this continually when I first got my Uly. Not a single repeat after the servo was swapped out. |

As for the rusting muffler. I'm noticing a pattern. It seems it's happening to you northern guys. Any chance you guys took the bike out during the winter and your city uses salt on the roads? |

4300 miles...nothing major, but several minor or non-issues Headshake on decel through 50-40 as previously mentioned Excessive oil consumption [within acceptable limits, but high IMO] Slight pinging on occasion [currently experimenting with different brand fuels and higher octane value] Dealer has had to set static timing three times. Fan became very noisy and was replaced. Lifespan of Dunlop D616 disappointing [2500-3000 miles] |

Maybe your rings didn't seat properly or at all. I've ridden mine hard from mile one and changed the oil out at 70 miles. But because of the weather I've only got 320 miles on mine so the jury is still out with mine. Time and miles will tell the tale. |

I have 6000 miles and so far it Looks like I have the one and only Buell that just works. No rust, vibrations, noises, oil burning, tire wear, heat problems. I drive the living out of it. Have taken it twice to dirt track including jumps. Have done 135mph with bags loaded, not washed it once and it treats me like a king. |

Brat, I will not speak for God, but yes, I do notice that utilitarian items such as saddle bags, tires, and drive belts are black. And beautiful items such as sunrises, sunsets, and Ulys, are ORANGE. BTW, Erik brought out the black for riders who could not handle the excitement and attention of ORANGE! Also black is not a true color but an absent of color. |

~2500 miles, no problems at all [except a slight head-shake when I stand on the seat and let go of the handle bars while decelerating between 50 and 40 mph]. |

I get that same head shake only when I ride over large potholes. |

Bosh, I noticed the same thing but only when standing on one foot while rubbing my head and patting my belly! |

Dragon, I think you're on to something there. That patting the belly thing would explain the relatively slow handlebar Oscillation frequency of 1.6 cycles / second [always starts with the handlebar moving counter clockwise]. Hmmm... I'll have to think about this |

910 miles, only prob was the horn rattle (cured by reversing it & the clutch cable blocking my view of the trip-ometer, a cable tie sorted that out ( a black one of course!) Riding in the North West of England I've ridden on my fair share of salty roads but no rust on the muffler yet (he says touching wood frantically). Mind you I do wash it off after every ride and keep it coated in ACF 50 (an anti corrosion treatment). |

4,900 miles here since September 30 (I bought the demo bike w/1,400 miles on it), and not one single solitary problem. Nothing. Of course my bike WAS broken in by the President and COO of the BMC... |

2800 Miles with bags, heated grips, tank bag and jacket liner. Lost zip tie holding oil line away from exhaust. No big deal caught it before it damaged the oil line. No head shake or any thing, although I hold on to my handle bars with at least one hand when I am riding. Loveall Franklin, KY |
