Contrary to popular belief, I did NOT get pulled over today on I-70. Fester and I simply missed our exit to I-35 under Bartel Hall. We probably could have made it, but why force something and get to meet Mr. Concrete Barrier. I met up with Tim and Larry back at their place after we got separated. Dennis, thanks for letting all of us stop by and drool over your garage. Nice setup! Lots of destinations today: Shawnee Mission Park, Central HD (pic below), Dennis' Garage, some burger joint (what was it called?). Good little ride today.

I guess I thought we were just going to keep rollin on 70 but no big deal. Had a nice ride the rest of the way to take my cold self home. Sam, you have the contact information for the guy that can rebuild my fork, this time no more wheelies. |

Just when I thought there was not much else my former employer could do to slap me in the face after the $81.00 retirement check... I get in the mail a document related to the deactivation of my security clearance due to retiring. Basic stuff, like I must keep the secret stuff secret for life, I cannot now disclose classified information merely because I have retired & I am no longer an employee, and that commie spies might now target me for my secrets from a federal career. So... there is a document I must sign and return to advise I realize I can go to jail for giving away these secrets, or I must ask to release information if I think it might now be unclassified. That kind of stuff. So... I need to sign the document, have my signature witnessed and return the document to the government. They provided an envelope to return the document. BUT THE CHEAP BASTARDS DID NOT PUT POSTAGE ON THE ENVELOPE! It's the friggin government... they print stamps & money... and they could not even put a stamp on the envelope. Keep in mind if I do not sign this document and return it... they send "Gov'ment Agents" to my door to discuss this error with me. So... it went from $81.00 down to $80.61. I'd call my congressman, but I can't afford to pay for a long distance call!!! |

Wasn't me. There is a guy who is friends with La Salle (Cody) who has one too. It was probably him. |

Good laughs Sunday too. JJ, Larry and Duff got to see me almost loop my bike! Bad stuff when you are riding a wheely and the back tire comes off of the ground too! |

$56 for a Uly tail light. I found that out after a similar experience. I learned that the key to preventing the near ground-loop is to not give it too much throttle when you are riding a wheelie. |

And cover your rear brake, however in James case the brake doesn't help much when the rear wheel is off the ground. |

Yeah I thought that was a pretty good trick, you don't see that one every day...so I tried but didn't quite have the luck of James. |

So how did the rear wheel come off the ground? |

Duff, Did you and James stop by the warehouses off of College after our ride? I saw a whole bunch of bikes back there stunting as I was heading back to Larry's. |

The rear wheel came off the ground because I brought the tire up right on the hump between the two parking lots at the spot. The front came right up, then I hit that and the back came right up too! Man that was scary. Yeah, we stopped off by there on Saturday and we were out there Sunday too. (Message edited by Olinxb12r on January 10, 2006) |

Who's going to Homecoming this year? I'm looking for someone to split some hotel expenses. I figure because of the race that area rooms will get booked early. If we can get a group together we might be able to find a condo |

So I guess nobody is going to homecoming. We are going to take some kind of trip though. Anyone up for a trip to Graham North Carolina? http://www.tailofthedragon.com/ I've never been, and I'm sure we could come up with a sweet route through Arkansas and Tennessee. Just a thought. I really don't want to be out there on a weekend when it is crazy busy, but it would be cool if we ended up there during the middle of the week in say June or July. Anyone interested. I think the other votes were to go out west, but I've already been there before. |

I would like to do both! If you make the trip to the dragon off of the interstates it would be a two day trip getting there. (Nothing wrong with that) It's 800 miles via the interstate. I took the "long way" to Nashville last summer and it was 725 miles and 13+ hours with stops. I was by myself so fuel stops were pretty quick. So, for me the Gap is out of range for one day if I took the "back roads" |

I tell you what...I would like to go to Homecoming...I would like to go to the Dragon...Colorado...Arkansas...Sturgis...Daytona...Moto GP...there are so many places I want to go this year I don't even know where to start planning. And with work I may just have to play all this by ear and see how busy we are once some of these events get a little closer. For me, two things are for sure...Homecoming and Sturgis. I will MAKE those happen. |

Did I mention that the wife is telling me we are going to Spain this Fall? ...wait a second. Doesn't Moto GP have a race in Spain every year? Hmm I might kill two birds with one stone here. |

I would like to do the Dragon's Tail early-mid June (July is my busy time). September I am going to a rally in Colorado (BACA). I have 2 weeks vacation more than my wife, so this year I intend to ride those 2 weeks...... |
