Good points Daves. Although, I feel one of the biggest attributes of a Buell is the association with the long history of HD, and that unmistakable HD sound (thanks to the D&D you sold me). I would never try to hide that (unlike Typeone). But if you call a Buell a Harley, then you would have to call a VRod a Porsche.

OMG Glitch. It'll prolly get my beat up, but with your permission, I'm putting that on my jacket! See, I still rib my local dealer, Bobby, about dropping the Buell line. He, and the HOG group would love that one! |

Thanks for the props guys! A picture is worth a 1000 words. Ya'll use it how you wish. There is no other size though, what you see is what you get. But if ya'll are nice I could maybe make a larger version. |

I think the biggest benefit of Buell's association with H-D is the access to Harley's resources including research and development. You can bet that any new developments in the bikes/engines are put through a much more rigorous testing protocol than they would have been otherwise before being released. After all, it takes a lot of $$$ to develop these machines properly. |

I would never try to hide that (unlike Typeone) I didn't say I wanted to hide it, just give Buell the respect they deserve. I echo what Dave said, I'm proud to own something unique. There's no denying the history or relationship, but that doesn't make it a Harley. Sure, some parts have that bar and shield logo on 'em, and lots of other parts on the bike come from all over the world too! (I love the 'my Aprilia isn't a Ducati' line. hahaa!) Why is it so bad that I would rather the company continue progressing and become its OWN brand away from HD? I like riding a bike thats kinda 'rare' but I also want the company to succeed for many years to come. Sucking off the HD teet has got to be a burden at many levels. Maybe its not. I don't think anyone would honestly answer that at Buell. My first comment above was in regards to the desecration of the Buell mark. Go ask the designer that created the Buell logo (or Buells creative dept.) what he thinks of putting the companies name in that shield Maybe I'm just way out in left field and Buell would love to sit in the corner of a Harley-Davidson shop for the rest of its existence. Who knows. Deep down I don't believe thats true. I would bet Buell would like the HD relationship to be more transparent to the consumer... like Ford owning Volvo. |

Hi, this site is all about Buells, REAL BUELLS. This site is awesome. My name is Sean and I can't stop thinking about Buells. These bikes are cool; and by cool, I mean totally sweet. Facts: 1.Buells are motorcycles. 2. Buells out corner inline-4 sportbikes ALL the time. 3. The purpose of a Buell is to totally wail through twisty roads and shred the sportbike posers. (With apologies to http://www.realultimatepower.net) |

You forgot that Buell riders sometimes get pissed and GO OFF and totally crush Ninjas in the twisties, sometimes dozens at a time.

Or just ride what you ride and not waste so much damn time comparing brands... I ride what I ride. Just because I enjoy showing a Buell is a capable weapon, doesn't mean I'm beating a dead horse. I used to have a GS550E... |
