I heard somewhere that there might be a displacement limit on the motorcycles this year. This might be in reaction to the death of Fabrizio Meoni last year. The big twin bikes are nowhere to be seen apparently. |

Last year's Dakar saw V-Twins limited to 450cc and the speed limited to 150KPH measured by GPS. There was a V-Rod sidehack in this years race, run by Scott Whitney from Bartels HD in Los Angeles, CA. but they dropped out after the first couple of stages. No Buells have ever competed in Dakar. You could put a Blast motor in a Ulysses frame and give it a try though. |
