I need to adjust some play out of my clutch cable. Went up to where it goes into the lever and was like HUH!!! It didnt have a adjustment?? I see where it goes into the case there is a nut to turn is this how you adjust the play out?? it didnt tell you how to do this in the owners manual ( i know i need a service manuel) please help!! thanks |

Adjustment is housed in a rubber bellows about midway along the cable, where the cable passes in front of the engine. I agree, an odd place to put it... |

Watch out there is a process to follow. Is it's only free play because it's too loose it's OK to just go the the cable. But it it's too tight you need to go to the clutch adjustment and then the cable??? ... Terry |

Or you buy a hydraulic clutch, and do away with adjustments, other then lever position preference, forever!! Yes, sevice manual is a must. REMEMBER, REMEMBER, RMEMBER to properly position the boot when you are done adjusting, so as to prevent the capture of water during baths and rain, or it will get into the cable housing and corrode the cable to failure. Like stated earlier, a smidgeon loose is better then too tight!! Or go hydraulic.......... Bruce |
