got the Buell performance racing exhaust for a present, and the high-flow air filter also. Was the race ECM supposed to be in the box with the air filer or i that something I must purchase separately? If so can I get the pipe and filter installed with out the race ecm? |

Usually the race exhaust kit comes with the can, race ecm, and high flow air filter. I think that if you want better performance out of what you have you should purchase the race ecm or return the package as a whole because it's supposed to be included. If you install the can and filter your bike will be drawing in too much air with less back pressure and a lean fuel mixture. The race ecm fattens up the air/fuel mixture to compensate for the breathing/exhaling of the engine. I wouldn't suggest it because it will run like dog doo!!!! |

Depends, If it was all in one box, and was the full Race Kit, then yes the ECM should have been in there. If it was separate items then no, they can all be purchased separate. I would run the Race ECM with those items. |

Can you ask the person if they bought the Race kit or just the parts separately. Like they said, race kit includes all 3. There is a significant increase in performance when you add the race ECM to the 2 items you have and get the TPS reset |

I called Bartels HD, btw the parts guy on the phone was an arsehole. I think your right Elff, they bought the performance air-filter, and exhaust because the guy told me that the stock ECM will work with these two parts. Im gonna give em another call today and talk to the manager, he saw my order come in so he might know if a race ecm is sitting around somewhere. |

He technically is correct The stock ECM will work with those parts. I drove mine to the dealership with the Race filter and muffler with stock ECM, swapped in the race ECM, and then had the TPS reset. The big benefit comes with the new ECM tho |

In simple terms... lean = more air than gas rich = more gas than air |

Do not run it far without the race ecm. If they do not have a ecm ordered for you I have them in stock. Badweb price is 188.95 |
