Do you have any idea how far extreme the views of the AFA are? Don't take what they spew at face value. Like ANY other informational source, be informed...get your information from various reliable sources, not an extreme organization with ulterior motives. This is the same group that threatened a boycott of Ford because they advertised in gay magazines!!! Get a life! (AFA) |

The problem with Geico is that they give law enforcement agencies new radar guns for free. Sounds OK at first, but then consider that Geico will raise your rates when you get a ticket. There's nothing generous in the least about the radar gun give away - it's a profit-maker in the end. That kind of business practice makes me itchy. I don't do business with Geico. I'm not impressed by this multi-million dollar gift that Progressive has made to the ACLU, either. Anybody remember where the ACLU came from? From the ashes of the American Communist Party just after it was declared illegal. Unfortunately my auto insurance carrier doesn't insure motorcycles. I don't know what I'm going to do. |

here's something you can do: celebrate the diversity & freedom offered by our unique, American way of life. ACLU, KKK, NAACP, GOP - all part of the mix..... ain't it great? |

That sounds well and good, but please keep in mind that "celebrate" does not mean "support." Part of our great freedom here is that we have the ability to not fund organizations we don't agree with. |

I had GEICO sometime back, for a short time.....Seems they did not like you having radar detectors. Or having a modified V8 under the hood |

The best insurance experience I've had was with State Farm, the worst I won't name for concern of being sued (trust me, they would). I'm currently insured with a different company due to family reasons (family member in the business). ===== ps, just like Buell dealerships, sometimes your local agent has more impact on your opinion of the corporation than the corporation itself. Spike - Excellent response, and well said. Loki - Ah, you reminded me of something that Geico used to do every doggone year. They used to call me and ask two questions. First they'd ask if I had a CB unit. That was a gimme - they don't care if you do or not. The real purpose of the call was to ask you the second question, and the first question was simply designed to get you off your guard. The second question was to ask if you had a radar detector. I never did, but I found out that if you answered yes to that question they'd find an excuse to drop you. So they give radar units to police for the purpose of raising your rates if you get a ticket, and they drop you if you own a radar detector in order to protect yourself from that scam. It's just not "customer service" in my book. |

Hell I remember a few years ago, well maybe more than a few, that Geico would not insure motorcycles! They started off as THE insurance company for all our Brothers/ Sisters in arms and then, well you know the rest of the story........................... Later Neil S. |

When I was in the Air force I checked with geico and they laughed at me. I had an 89 camaro. I was told to stay with state farm that they couldnt touch them. I was insured through michigan agent and paying 250 a month for one car. I found USAA and have no complaints. I have been with them since 1997. My wife totaled a car 1 month after being added to my insurance, and never had a problem. Had a rental within one hour of report of accident. Rates never go up except for when I purchase a new vehicle. |

I agree with Jugallo94, I have had USAA since 1966 when I was in OCS, and I have always been pleased with the cost, coverage, and claims. I actually have my homeowners, banking and auto insurance with them. I know everyone can't get USAA, but if you can it's worth every dime. I had two cars, a 2002 Heritage and a 2003 XB9S insured at very reasonable rates. Now just the two cars and an XB12Scg, but rates are still fantastic. }} |

Have any of you folks seen the comparison charts that insurance companies use to prove they have the lowest rates?I think progressive does this the most.Ever notice there is ONE company they NEVER put up there?AAA.you can get these same charts with their numbers and AAA is always cheaper.way cheaper. If you have a good record check with them.I pay around $400 for each Buell and barely more for the Tuono.Per year. |

When I got out of the Army I started working at a place that didn't offer health coverage and I went through AAA. They have so many members that their "group plan" had fantastic rates. Much cheaper than anyone else I looked into. I never thought of using them for vehicle insurance....have to look into it. |

Just a heads up that there is a pretty nasty windows exploit in the wild now. It uses .wmf extensions and pretty much owns even patched windows machines when you just browse a site. The thing even managed to infect a windows box that was using wget to do a forensic analysis... It's a pretty virulent strain. Currently, it is mainly being used for spyware installs, which is bad enough, but it will be getting worse by the moment. I don't think there are any windows patches out yet, but many of the anti-virus firms have signatures released to catch it. I would expect Microsoft to have a patch out shortly, though it may take them from days to weeks to get it through quality assurance testing. So update your anti-virus definitions now, and if you IT folks want to continue enjoying your holidays, block any .wmf attachments in email, and block any .wmf files at your reverse proxy server / firewall if possible. |

Vintage Fishing Reel Question I am trying to track down some info on a couple of vintage reels that I just pulled out an old tackle box of mine. I have exhausted the web trying to find info on these 2 reels. Figured I would give BadWeb a try, seems like I can always find an anwser here! Are there any fisherman that can point me into a direction for info on a Viking F-120 Spinning Reel and a Falcon Spinning Reel. My guess is, both are at least 30 years old or more. Thanks, Jim |

Jim, Try going through some collector's forums. I've found info on some old gear I have that way when direct searching didn't find any info. http://www.fishingworks.com/antique_lures/index.cfm http://www.fishingsociety.org/antiquefishingEQ.html http://www.google.com/search?q=collectible+fishing+gear+forums&hl=en&lr=&start=1 0&sa=N I"d better stop here or I won't get anything else done today. |
