I realized after I posted this that I posted in the XB Board and not the Quick Board. SORRY... This is on the front of a magazine-news paper called "Cycle Scene" its free and can be found at the local tracks and races. A guy named Neale Bayly takes Valentino Rossi's M1 bike for a spin. Neale is a writer and a journalist and has done work for several magazines. "If you crash it, We'll kill you" is what they told Neale. He and I had met while taken a coarse at a race school a few weeks ago to get our racing license and some lessons. He showed up in his leather suit and helmet armed with his camera and pin. Someone had set him up with a Daytona 600. He was really cool and asked questions about the Buell. He took several pics' of my bike. He gave me his # and E-mail and said he'd be in touch and to keep a look out for and article about the Race school. He said he'd might even have a pic' of a Buell in with the article. We did a (mock race) 8 laps at the end of the coarse. We had about 12 or 13 of us. We did have about 17 or so riders but about 5 crashed though out the day. It rained off and on. It was dry for about 2 or 3 hrs. In the mock race their was a girl named Sarah who races in WERA expert and was doing a refresher coarse and mostly seasoned riders that were wanting to race or just have fun. The mock-up was just like the real thing. All the flags and officials and a pretty good size crowd. The track manager said one of the largest crowds in a while. It made me a bit nervous, They said they would pick the grid formation. To make a long story short. Sarah led the whole race and I led 2nd for 7 laps. Neale had past me in the eight lap and I then I passed him. At the last corner going into the straight a way he passed me for the finish. I got 3rd... By the way Neale had borrowed a race 600RR from a team that was doing some set up work and some practice they had several bikes. Must be nice. The Daytona had been giving Neale some problems, it was nice that they let his use one of their back up bikes. By the way this mag' had two Buells adds for local dealers and had a article about the '22nd Annual Race of Chanpions' and also a pic of Scott Robertson that won the Amateur lightweight superbike. Nice pic of the #91 Buell. |
