It would have been nice if ANYONE else would have bought it just to keep it one piece. |

I kind of wonder how the buyer came out financially and if he'd have been better off just buying a cheaper stock bike to end up where he ended up. Would be interesting to know the numbers just out of curiosity. |

I'm new to this site and have nothing but the utmost respect for all of you guys and don't feel that I'm "grandfathered in" enough to really let my sentiments be known, but lets just say they're best represented by these two fellows... ...I do however dig the bobber, apes and all!! Hey Prior if ya want to see her without the lightning paint on her you can look at American sportbikes web sight and look at customers rides section. You'll see her just blue and without all the chrome but she looked sweet then also. |

I had and rode a rigid back in the 70's. Riding around town is ok, riding @70 on the freeway is ok, hitting a pothole and realizing that you are now airborne is priceless! I believe that is why they call them "chopper pilots". I really never like to see any XL type engines used as chopper material...this particular example looks borderline criminal... |

Dana, I've seen it on American Sport Bike's website too, even pics after it had been repainted, pre-chopper. Awesome bike. I know my M2 is never going to be sold, and when I get an S1 (or M2 in your case), I'd love to have a bike that looks that bads1. Maybe a little less chrome. Good point to the whole deal, I suppose, there are some other Buells out there that hopefully got some pimp material from your bike... Your lightning looks bad12s too. Love the paint! Alex |

"this particular example looks borderline criminal..." That's kind of the point sometimes for some. There's a local sub-group around here that has a gathering every year that I've never been to where the one main requirement is to ride a hard-tail. If there is any rear suspension at all then the bike doesn't qualify and isn't allowed into the event - not even to park. |

Not down on hardtails mind you, just why use a Buell? It's like using a Corvette to build a BOSS HOG or whatever those V8 things are... |

I kinda like that bike, too! The fact that they cut up that awesome buell is a travesty. Why don't these a$$holes use Sportsters for donors - they are everywhere! The motor is almost identical, the suspension is crap, brakes are marginal and the frames are too heavy and a tad flexible so why not use them for donors instead? And besides, I'd stop calling them a$$holes if they used sportsters! AL |

I have rejected pimp material from that bike. My header is one that Dana didn't see as being fit for his masterpiece. It has done just fine on my bike so far though. I did try to purchase the rims a few years ago when the bike was for sale in Iowa but was unsuccesfull. |

Another thing. When you build one of those "choppersinnabox" and you strap up your straight pipes ["gotta lose this muffler"] aren't you turning the ponies away? You lose some of the reason to go Buell in the first place, no? |

I hate to see that happen to such a good looking Buell(or any Buell for that matter). I've never seen it in person, but when I first joined the site that was one of my favorite bikes to look at. |

I believe that this thread follows the build of that bike. http://www.clubchopper.com/forums/t25948-15&pagenumber=1 |
