Shred,New12r, When you guys go to Jennings, be sure to show them what the Buell can do (I'm sure you will ) I get a lot of crap from these guys (friendly crap, that is) because I am still slow. One of these days, I'll be keeping up with them in the twisties... but for now I just CATCH up with them at the intersections. LOL. note: I have been off bikes since 1989, when I sold my 87' GSXR750.. this is the first bike that I have been on since then. It's just like starting over again. But at 36, I am less inclined to take the chances that I took at 18. Tis funny how life makes you think. |

Helmets have to meet safety standards. I read an article one time about which helmets were best and the 150.00 helmet was just as good as the 350.00 helmet. The only difference is that one might be a little more comfortable. |

Question which helmets are the best for the best protection ? Anything with a Snell and DOT rating. The HJC's are good and some of the cheapest. The Scorpions are pretty decent. Shoei and Arai are gonna be the best but most expensive. You can do a whole lotta research and come up with your own opinions, based on millions of hours of testing, but basically a full face with a Snell and a DOT rating are within some kinda "official" guidelines. I trust the HJC cl-12 on Bambi if that's any indication. I have a Shoei. My life was saved once in 1983 by a Bell, but they are crap now and once in 1980 by a Simpson, which I believe are still OK helmets. IMO, the graphics have nothing to do with the quality of a helmet and with a talented set of friends, like Silver Bullet, Glitch, et al, you can put anything you want on anything you get. I can hook you up with a Sponge Bob sticker if you'd like. |

I have a Scorpion, and I love it. It has a great fit, although they seem to be sized a little differently than the average. I usually wear a large, but had to go with an XL in the scorpion. It is a VERY comfortable fit IMO. Also, the face shield holds tight when closed. My last helmet would fly open when checking the blind spot at hwy speeds. The scorpion stays shut. |

What Kdan said. I ride a Shoei because it fits my head and I am particular about my helmets. I think Scorpion makes a good product for the money. The Icons are nice too if they fit your head shape. As long as the helmet has the ratings that it should like Kdan said it is good. However, the way it fits on your noggin is just as important. Make sure it is snug and fits your head shape. |

Gltich...you got a full pic of that bike? That looks interesting S_B.....got any more of those 3%er stickers so I can put one on the back of my new lid...(silver or grey) The most random thing happened yesterday..... Last Wed Chrissy was rear ended in her Civic and I have been getting the run around from that person's insurance. Yesterday while I was bitchin' out the insurance agent about getting her car fixed she call my cell on the other line. I swap over and she said the she was just rear ended again in the exact same place that the previous car had hit her.....Unbelievable!!!! No extra damage. That stupid Biotch that hit her got lucky!!!! I guess she has a Dumb A$$ target on the back of her car. |

Gltich...you got a full pic of that bike? That looks interesting. I see if I can dig one up, that's one of the first modded XB9s. Back when you could find next to nothing for an XB. Dang! Maybe we ought to paint Chrissy's car safety orange. |

There's a full pic of that bike that was posted...probably in '03...on the XBoard, or, it may have been before there was an XBoard, then again it may be in Cool Buell Pics... That would be nice looking (black struts), should be pretty easy to do as well. |

I will be doing it for my videos anyway and thought some of you might want to use the space to get videos/pics out... |

B_A- Sorry to hear about your fall this morning <<<<GOOD VIBES>>>>> We went skiing at Monarch yesterday and it was brutally cold. We thought it was about -4 without the windchill, however that was incorrect it was -14, -40 with the windchill. I guess that's why there weren't too many people on the slopes :} But I have killer gear and didn't get cold except on the lifts. Here are the pics for ya. We left before sunrise and got to see the full moon set behind the peaks- too cool This is what they looked like a few minutes later when the sun was up.

I just wish I could figure out how to down load my videos from my camcorder to a CD. Dell says my computer is made for it. But I cannot get it to work at all. When I start to download it just tells me to install a new cd. I know I am not the smartest person when it comes to computers but all you should have to do is follow directions. |

Going with Shred in the early AM to Jennings for another Ed Bargey track school. I'll not be riding my pony still isn't fully assembled yet. I'll be taking both the digital and video cameras. I'll post vids and pics soon. Stay tuned. Mountainrider, try a new blank CD. Not sure what could be holding you back. If you PM me your phone number I may be able to help, won't be able to call until sometime Sunday though. |
