I'm looking at finally buying the XB12R that I've been lusting over for a while now. It seems to me that most Harley shops don't want to deal at all on price. What's the deal with that? Can anyone recommend a good dealership in the Atlanta area that will give a good price on these machines. I am willing to drive a couple hundred miles if the deal is worth it! |

Dave in WI is probably the best prices and service from what I've heard. I know he has met some customers half way on the drive. |

Forsale- Daves at Appleton, WI HD/Buell is a great guy, but Stone Mountain HD/Buell is a just a little closer to you and is also a sponsor of this board. They are very Buell friendly. Check out them out under the "sponsors" section. Several of their employees are regular posters to BadWeb (Clown, Deadman, etc.). |

Ditto on Stone Mountain. However, they sell the Firebolts at list as fast as they can get them. H-D of Ocala in Florida sells Buells at unbelievable prices -- are OK guys -- and would be a nice drive from Atlanta this time of year. Damn, it's COLD in the ATL lately! Guz... |

Check on Ebay or Cycle trader for dealers that are overstocked with Xb`s. I got my XB12 for $7800 plus tax brand new with 0 miles. Then just find a good dealer to service it! |

How soon do you need it? I have a spring promotion going on right now. I will not be the cheapest, the dipshits in Ocala have the lock on that. I will however offer a fair deal, take care of you, take you to the factory and to the Homecoming rally and races at Road America and still be a Buell dealer next year. If you don't want or can't come to WI I would point you towards Stone Mountain, great people there too. |

Their website lists new inventory that appears to be an average of $1500 less than MSRP on almost all '06 models.. holy dipshit how possible? Volume? Hidden freight/prep? BUELL WALMART? |

I live in Orlando which is ~75 miles from Ocala HD/Buell. I could have easily bought my Ulysses there for a great price. Instead, I am taking advantage of Daves's fly-n-buy promotion. Why?? The promo will be like a vacation/adventure for me. I am having some accessories/mods. added to my ULY before I pick it up and I trust Daves to have them done correctly (and at a good price). Finally, I like supporting the people who are avid Buell/Buell owner supporters and Daves and Appleton are on top of that list. Frank |

Forsale....you can't go by price and price alone...I can get a Buell from our local shop that is about 15 minutes from my house...that being said..I bought my bike and all my parts, and stuff from Daves.. About 13 hours away....Good price ... GREAT service ... and from somebody that actually knows the product. I have also dealt with Clown from Stone Mnt. and he has also proved to be be great to deal with. Larry |

Ebear, Believe me when I say I was being nice, very nice. Any dealer that discounts the hottest selling bike in years two weeks after it is introduced is not only not playing with a full deck but just screwed the whole market for Buell even more. Discounting the bikes dilutes the value of the bikes as new and even more so as used trade ins. Is that what we really all want? I hear/see all the time about the low trade in value, you care to guess a huge reason for that? Yep, it's dealers that do not care enough about Buell business or Buell riders to do it the right way and EARN the business and thus a fair profit on the bikes. They instead take the EASY way out and just blow them out the door with low prices. Heck anyone can do that. It's a lot more work to do it the way good dealers do. They use the old "they just don't sell around here" or other lame excuses to justify their actions but in truth it is that they are not prepared to conduct their Buell business in such a way that the customers actually do not base their purchase decision based only on price. I really think that most of my customers want me to make a fair profit(jeez,I hope so anyway). A good or fair deal benefits all involved. I feel I give that. Every single day. There will always be someone cheaper out there no matter how cheap you get. That has and never will be my goal. |

The only reason I didn't buy my bike from Daves is cause I have to have a CA model. I do however order all my Buell parts & accessories from Dave. |

How right you are Dave. I can only imagine what the trade in price of my car is now with all of the "employee discount" junk that is happening in the car business. You have understood something that so many other's just don't get... Customer service is worth more then money saved. Saving a couple of bucks is great, and it helps get people in the door, but customer service ensures that they are coming back again and again. |

Business is business! Money is their business. It doesn't matter where you buy the bike from, it matters how much it is and will you use them for service and parts. I have bought bikes from other dealerships where 2 grand was taken off the deal knowing that I was not going to use them for anything else but the sale of the new bike. If you have a trusted mechanic/dealership they should treat you no different than anyone else. Also consider shipping a bike if you can get a good deal. Save your money..... |

Bought mine from Daves. 1000+ miles away. I got a AWESOME deal. I think we talked for a bout 20 seconds on the price. I was impressed with the whole thing from the get go. I will forever buy Harley or Buell from Daves even though he is that far away. Heck I even by my oil filters/ everything from him because of the continued integrity and professionalism i receive from him and appleton. |

I'm taking this one step further, having written and preached on customer service and motorcycles for years. DaveS is on the right track, but there's more. Price is one, but only one, component of value. Some of you have been watching my sage about buying the $209 Red Wing boots over the $39 WORX (made by Red Wing in China and represented as "just as good") sage. Price is the easy thing to see, it's displayed on a tag hanging from the bike, plastered in the local moto-trader rag or painted on the inside of the dealer window. "Price" describes a transaction at an instant in time, the moment of purchase, and does little to describe the long term joy or agony of ownership. I'm always a bit reluctant to say "I don't care about price". It's not entirely accurate and is easy to take wrong. But, I've paid over $17,000 for a Buell from a dealer and had $25,000 or better tied up in two of the Buells I've owned, I'm not opposed to putting a few bucks down for a good time. But, I'll tell you what draws me to a dealership and what, in my opinion, makes Dave Stueve shine, and it's simple old-fashioned honesty. I have the good fortune of having a couple dealers, Rahway, NJ and Danbury, CT, that are doing great things in the world of Buell. I'd have no problem, and in fact would look forward to, dealing with either of them. However, absent them, I'd have my aging butt headed straight to wherever Dave is. I'd go not to save money, but because I'd know that the 20 second "how much is this going to cost me?" would be answered, simply, with a number and be a fair price. I WANT my dealer to make a profit....it's their ONLY ticket to see the 2nd act of the show! Bottom line is, I try to buy VALUE. I want a good motorcycle, I want an honest and responsible company behind the bike and I want a dealer who meets these criteria to the point where I look for reasons to spend money with them. It's been 16 years since I bought, after riding an RR-1200 for a year, my first Buell and I've been buying them ever since. There's a message there. |

Come on down to Albany, GA and see Chad at Flint River Harley Davidson/Buell. You won't find a better deal in the whole state. I've purchased two Buells there and have gotten great deals on both of them. |

I went gently used and did pretty well. I was looking at new, and found some great prices from some class acts (including one of the gentlemen mentioned above), but just couldn't spring the green. Low miles used might get you there, but not if you need the 06 in 05. |
