You'll be fine. Lots of Buell riders run Mobil-1 75W-90 synthetic gear oil. It shifts noticeably better than the factory lube, so the Amsoil stuff should do OK too. |

Your Amsoil is higher viscosity. In your climate, that's probably a good thing. As long as it shifts well, don't worry about it. If you find that it shifts worse than it used to, change to something else. |

Don't forget that gear oil and engine oil aren't rated for viscosity on the same scale. Gear oil isn't nearly as viscous as the weight rating would lead you to believe. Someone posted a link to some info on this just recently. |

There was a similar chart posted here, but this one is just as good: http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/visc.html BTW, if you want to REALLY get into oils, lubricants, filters, etc. that is the site for you. |

Frankly, I think that oil is too high of a viscosity for the trans. I use 75-90 M1. IMHO |

I have a bottle of 85W gear oil, full synthetic from Castrol. Can I use it? Also, it says in the back that it is for 2 stroke bikes, is there a difference between 2 stroke and 4 stroke gear oil? |
