Has anyone installed a security system on a Uly or any other Buell for that matter? Is there enough space to mount all of the "stuff" and keep the same amount of under seat storage? I have been looking at the "Scorpio SR-i500" is anyone familiar with this model? |

Don't know about the 'Scorpio SR-i500' (http://www.scorpioalarms.com/sr-i500.aspx) $300!; but, the 'AsianWolf X-1' system (http://www.asianwolf.com/motorcyclealarms.html) seems tempting $160 - Lojack (http://www.lojack.com/) probably being the ultimate protection. kinda nice to have a pager beep you if someone is messing with your ride.. |

Snub13, Not familiar with the Scorpio SR-i500. But Scorpio seems like a good brand. I went simple with my XB12X. I picked up an Armed Guard Sport, which is a basic alarm. It is a single small box that easily fits under the seat (I'm thinking of moving under the flyscreen). The unit has shock and voltage sense in the unit and an external tilt sensor. I did a 'test fit' under the seat and yea both sensors work :-) It doesn't disable the ignition (I like) and has a battery in it, so even if the power wire is cut it will still sound the siren. Oh yea, and the remote allows you to activate it without the shock sense, not sure why but maybe needed if it's real windy. The price was right too ~$100. Just a little piece of mind when I park at work and can't see it from my window. Cheers (Message edited by 2hogs+ on December 09, 2005) |

How to install a poor-man's security system: Go to a second-hand store, buy a pair of men's used work boots - a really big pair. Put them outside your front door on top of a copy of Guns and Ammo magazine. Put a dog dish beside it. A really big dog dish. Leave a note on your front door that says something like "Bubba, big Mike and I have gone to get more ammunition - back in ½ an hr. Don't disturb the Pit bulls, they've just been wormed." |
