Any body out there running a Penske on an S3T and doing two up touring? I just got one of the 8981 shocks, and was debating on using it or just running the new Showa that was replaced under the recall. Thanks |

I have one on the S2T, and like it. I particularly like the length adjustability and have raised the rear a smidge. I'd recommend checking what your spring rate is. Many Penske shocks were sold with not enough spring for the S2/3 models and heavier loads. I'm not entirely sure, but I believe I have either 650 lbs or 700 lbs spring in there. I do know that after fitting the spring, I was wishing I'd gone even heavier. If you go with a heavier spring, get one of the flat roller bearings that Traxxion carries. It goes between the spring and the preload adjustment collar. Makes it a bit easier to adjust preload - not much, but every bit helps.
