Seeu911, Thanks for the info on Bryan Gardner. Hope that all is going well for him. As being a fellow Hoosier myself I've sent him something in the mail. Hopefully I'll be able to meet some of you guys while I'm in Daytona for Bikeweek. I've met Preston while at Homecoming last year and he's a very friendly and nice fella. Again tell Bryan to hang in there and were thinking good things for him. later, jiml |

Hey there all you BUELLTIFUL people. It's me Brian "Bubba" Gardner very heavily sedated and crying. I'm crying because I am overwhelmed by the out pouring of support. My body is in so much pain but my heart is filled with joy. I'm trying to keep my eyes open and write this but I keep seeing my keyboard n double vision. I personnaly want to thank my good friend Preston for everything he has ever done for me. especialy for saying "we won't let you ride with us without a helmut...it litterally saved my life. Randy and his wife Judy for the camera woprk and the photos for my lawyer. And randy for being the other big guy along with Donn on these great rides. I am sincerely a very lucky guy to be alive and to have good friends. I,ve had to take a 3 month leave of absence from school and I'll have no income for atleast 2 months. See I'm a hairdresser and my hands and back don't work. Enuf of that I will be at the races come by and say Hi. again thank you all so much for confirming my thoughts that there are still kind human beings out there. by the way nevere ....and I mean never take on a pickup truck...it will always win. Brian from your friends, we are glad you are still here with us. If I remember Prestons actual words were ..."get a ..ing helmet.." or really close to that. Sandy (the guy in the picture above left of Brian) and I went and saw your bike over the weekend. You are not only ugly but lucky ! The truck won that round for sure. We are looking forward to seeing you up and around soon. Preston, Randy, Court, Blake, Jhallbrooks and others who I don't know about have contributed generously and set a great example. Thank you all who have helped Brian. A normal hardworking young guy trying to make his life with bikes. He still needs our help. If you haven't yet, please do the PayPal thing...there but for the grace of God go you or I. |

Paypal works off of email addresses to identify who is getting the money... who's email address should we use for sending funds? We can call it the "somebody actually cared enough to give me *hit about not wearing a helmet and I therefore survived my accident" fund... I think that's one particularly important lesson we can take away from this whole thing. |

Just make sure Bubba is also subscribed to the PayPal service, and there is a 2% processing fee attached to transactions. Just a heads-up, both sender and receiver have to be subscribed to PayPal. |

I had another accident. I have a little roadrash on my side (where my jacket rode up), right knee, and right elbow. My L. hip and R. knee are also sore. Some pulled out in front of me. He didn't see the bright blue bike with the high beam on. Did I mention the part about being a . He did stop, though, and he admitted guilt to the officers. I didn't hit him, luckily. I got on the brakes pretty hard and started to slow. Then the handlebars whipped a little and off I go. I hit on my head and shoulders and then sky, ground, sky, ground... I don't know what happened to make the bike go out of control like that. I figure the front tire skidded or something. ?????? I can't remember that part. Wish I did. I've been playing the shoulda, woulda, coulda game since then. I'll need new handlebars, grips, mirror, clutch lever, clutch cover, pegs, shifter, tank, and rear fender. I'll be practicing my S.I.P.D.E while I drive my truck around. PLEASE be carefull! |

Philip, glad to hear you walked away ! and did not have any broken human parts. Sweet bike in your profile..I know you will get it up again soon. Pls let me know if I can help. FYI what protective gear were you wearing ? In hind sight how much protection did you get ? any surprises ? what would you do or wear differently ? I'm thinking more and more lately about the correct gear. |

HJC Retro jacket, Joe Rocket carbon gloves, steel-toed combat boots, Jeans/longjohns, and an HJC helmet. The jacket held up quite well except for some broken seams on the left arm at the elbow. I have one burn on my arm from the leather, as well. The jacket did ride up at the waist which allowed my stomach to contact. My boots took a hit on the toe which went to the metal. My gloves have scrapes all over them including the carbon areas. The seams in the palm of one glove are cut but the glove held together. The helmet is broken where the visor connects and it has a scrape on top and an straight impact on the back. No cracks. I didn't feel a thing when I hit my head. I also slid on my wallet which saved my ...literally. |

Have you heard the joke about the old bull and the young bull standing on the top of the hill ? Someone here will tell you...I'm sure. Here is some free advice. Read: A Twist of the wrist by Keith Code, Vol I and II. Awesome on how to ride fast. Do: Take A MSF Rider Course. Find: a group of local Buellers and ride with them often.
