I would have traded tail sections with that race guy. I would love to have one of those RS "flip-up backrests" on my S2. I even emailed Corbin but they were not interested, then they come out with the "Rumble Seat" for the Harleys, Q. Has anybody ever fitted an S2 with an RS tail section? or would you have to start with an S2 tail and build it from scratch? I have two (2) extra S2 tails and one stock seat I would be willing to trade. (Also have two tank covers, two fairings and two front fenders, all with some cosmetic imperfections) |

tbolt - My bike is just the opposite - RS with S2 bodywork. I have the complete set of RS body pieces, but i'm not willing to break it up. I'm not sure how the 'flip up' part mounts to the sub-frame, but the tail section seems to be a straight swap, and not really a "build it from scratch" ordeal. I didn't do the conversion, it was done by a friend of mine that owned the bike before I got it from him. Next time I talk to him, Ill ask how he switched it over .AL |

That's a real beauty you got there Allan ! If it were relatively simple, I would love to convert my tail section to the flip-up style. I know my wife would appreciate it! Thanks... |

Can anyone spot any differences between this S2 engine and a production S2 engine? There's definitely 1 and maybe 2. 1313 |

The differences are simpler. The first - the timer cover is definitely different - only prototype bikes had the black background. The second (and this is only possibly different as the photo isn't of high enough resolution to show for sure) it looks like the weave of the carbon fiber is different than what was used in production. Some S2 photos (like 'em or not) I've come accross recently: 1313 |

Put the name Peter Max on just about anything and watch the price. A somewhat minor foot note in motorcycling. Yet a bigger splash in the modern art world. Find a buyer that lives in both worlds with some extra ching and away it goes. It would be a somewhat bold statement to find it in the Buell offices though. |

This past Saturday (11/19/05), my friend and brother-in-the-Lord, John Daigle of New Orleans, LA (who is also a part-time professional photographer) offered to shoot pics of the members of www.RocketMadness.com (Louisiana's premier crotch rocket forum) I told him I would like to take a picture near the three giant crosses here in Baton Rouge, similar to "the Cowboy and his horse kneeling at the Cross". He took what started out as a vision, an idea, and made it into an inspiring work of art ... BE BLESSED! "At The Cross" Before... and After...

I read the July 18th post about a turbo buell running 300 hp! with no intercooler. what kind of fuel management are they running? What kind of fuel are they running? turbo charging a harley v-twin is not that hard, doing with a over about 9 lbs. of boost is HARD. It has to do with the engine pulse and such. Ask John Minonno or Dave Rash who are currently trying to beat 250 mph on a blown harley motor. they currently have the record at 225 in 100 inch pushrod blown fuel class. |

Tom,it's not so far off.My 1250 makes 180 with the smallest nitrous pills, gonna get my ignition retard wired in and throw some more at it.Running 12-15 lbs of boost.I'll let you know how much a 100"er makes next year--- John Sachs used to post on here and was around 225 on his Buell and looking for more. Court, you're missing a few pieces. |

O.K. Jim, I guess my point was it is hard to make 300hp with a turbo. My guess would be about 25 to 30 lbs of boost on a 100 inch engine. The more power you try to make the harder it is to get there and maintain reliability. i've seen drag harleys run 400 plus hp easy, but do it reliable and with a turbo and I'll belive it. Salt racing, drag racing and street riding are all different.one allows for just a few seconds of run time, the others don't. |

Does anyone have a lower mile S2? After I got home from work tonight, my '95 S2's odometer read 05,891.7 miles. All because the odometer doesn't have a place for the 1 that should be preceding it. 1313 |

I think you'll find there are quite a few S2's with relatively low mileage. I'm not certain but I think mine has about 11k maybe less DAve |

How hyped am I? Well, Phase 1 (of 3) of my S-2 restoration is complete. This bike has been in 44 states and introduced HUNDREDS of folks to Buell. From the Blue Ridge Parkway to the S-1 Intro to Mt. Palomar to the first Buell on Mt. St. Helens and the run along the Columbia River to meet the Buell curious in Boise before jetting off the Wyoming and on to Sturgis only to show up, get two tickets in the Twin Cities the next day and then make one of the most eventful departures (dropping the clutch with a 5/8" cable through BOTH wheels, in retrospect, was bad practice), being asked to leave the road my the WI HP due to winds and rain and then getting tagged, with another Buell test rider by Officer McClellen (nemesis of all Buell factory riders on I-43).....well, this bike has been around. This was the "Ride around the United States" when Buell owners numbered closer to 100, than 100,000....which, by the way, was a HUGE increase from when Erik and I first got Buell owners together when they numbered less than 50! It had gotten pretty long in the tooth when I broke it out, after not running for the past 3 years, and rode it to Homecoming last year. I had an absolute hoot on the bike and it was time to restore it to it's LAP OF AMERICA splendor. When it reached Aaron in Colorado, it was producing a whooping 52RWHP. . . and it was a ball to ride, even like that. What started as a "just freshen it up" has turned into a full zoot 88" super-reliable (I intend to hit quite a few states on the voyage home) motor with ALL updates and lots of goodies. Motorcycles are funny things. Like a 450RWHP Porsche they invite and entice us to see things we don't need as ESSENTIAL. To that end, Aaron's doing things like upgrading the oil pump, oil flow system, alternator bolts, rods and about 59 things that have never failed but fell victim to the "while we have it open, we might as well. . . " thinking. Stay tuned. . . I've got another Buell in the works, but this in the one, of all the Buells I've owned the last 18 years, that is NOT FOR SALE. Enjoy . . .

Hi Court. What is the plugging of the cam box oil drain hole good for? Gives the drilled through center bolt more rigidity to the case in that area? Regards,Ralph |
