I know technically it is the "shocker" but we kinda embraced it as our little 3%er shout out for our BRAG group here in Atlanta. Don't mean to offend.....just think its kinda funny.

i have both a 9r and a 12s. i wrecked the s and cant wait to put it back together. that bike is my baby. i bought the r cause i always wanted one, but soon found it sitting in the garage all the time. i cant get enough of my s. i wish i was riding the r when i wrecked instead of the s. anyways, my vote is on the s models incase you couldnt tell. good luck. |

If you ride hard in turns all the time, you of course want an R, it is a great sport position. If you don't want that all the time, modify the S. Get the S and put Crossroads on it for performance riding. Best $250 you will ever spend. I love my S at the track and on the street with the Crossroads. I'm 6'0" and it fits me great. |

0512r & 98s3t I use the R for Sunday canyon runs, and the S3 for longer journeys. Brian |

I had an extremely hard time choosing between the R & S. I really love the looks of the R. The final deciding factor in me choosing an XB12Scg was that it was the most versatile bike of the two. If I could afford two bikes make no mistake there would absolutely, positively be a 12R sitting in my garage as well. I can wait forever though if need be. My 12S makes me perfectly happy. |

I am just glad we all chose Buell. I just had my first curious sportbike rider (Yamaha of some sort) approach me in the Vons parking lot. He was real curious about the Buell and recalled a story about the last bike expo he attended--"there were like 100 Buell riders that all rode in together". And he wouldn't leave until I fired up the bike so he could hear the "different" sounding V-twin. Pretty cool. |

Metalstorm-- I had a hard time deciding too, when the Xb platform first came out I wanted an R real bad but then the S slowly grew on me and now that I have one I love every day I ride her |

I will have to say that I too was sold on the R at first, but then the S definitely grew on me for several different reasons. Love the S so far. |

I love my XB12S with the crossroads bars -7 degree. Never cared for the looks of the fairing on the R. |

XB12Ss - To be truthful the R was what first got my attention to the XB's. I had found an XB12R that I was going to buy, but decided to check out the Ss first at another dealer. I rode the Ss home that day and haven't looked back. |

I bought an S and loved it, at first. But the more I ride it, the more i wish i had an R. I just got tired of the "situp and beg" seating position, especially for more aggressive/fast riding. So I got 0degree crossroads. Then i switched to -7degree crossroads. And now I'm trying to figure out how to get woodcraft clip-ons (yes, i know the issues, but i'm gonna try anyway) to put on BELOW the top triple. And probably woodcraft rearsets on as well. So if you ride aggressive, get an R and save yourself the expensive conversion. (Message edited by monorad on November 22, 2005) |

R...I've ridden the S and don't feel nearly as confident for hard riding in that position...but it could just be my lack of seat time compared to the R. |

I bought an "R". It isn't my only bike so I went for the more aggressive riding position. I also liked the idea of a little bit more wind protection. So far I really like the lower bars. I would like to try the lower foot pegs from the S, and from the pictures the even lower yet foot pegs for the Ss since I have long legs and middle aged knees. Is this a big deal to change, and to change back? Anybody done this? Any recommendation on aftermarket pegs? Ralf |
