Hello all. A quick intro, and then a question. my name is John, my friends call me Vito. I have an '04 H-D Wide Glide with tons of chrome and an '05 Buell XB12S Lightning that I have fun with! Been riding for 25 years (boy I am getting OLD). I reside in the Pacific Northwest and ride about 15,000 miles a year in all weather.

I have the race kit on my bike, and I have a couple of hiccups through the power band. Has anyone installed a Power Commander on their Buell? Is it possible?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,
vito

It's possible, and it has been done. You'll need to install at hi-perf O2 sensor. The Power Commander II/III for the older tube-frame Buells will work on the XB series. If you need one, let me know, I've got a whole set-up that I'm willing to sell. Also, check out the Knowledge Vault for more info.

I was just through Indianapolis a few months back on my way to Bloomington H-D/Buell!

Would be interested in what you have. Is it a new set up? What are you looking to get for it?

Any info on why Dynojet won't specifically list the Buell, or am I looking in the wrong place on their site?

Thanks for the post.

They do have maps posted on thier site. They don't make the PCIII for Buell anymore because it's somewhat difficult to implement properly. Once you tune the PC, you have tuned it to the local weather conditions of THAT day (heat, humidity, etc). From what I understand they got alot of returns because people thought that it didn't work, so they stopped making them. I've heard at least one member of the site here say that it's a good idea to have a "summer" and "winter" map, and change them as conditions dictate.

The one I have is new, I ran it on the bike for a week but decided to just go with a Race ECM and/or a TFI. It's not as tunable, but I'm not a perfectionist anyway. As long as I can get it to where the bike has a rich enough mixture, I'm happy.

I live in Indy but I'm the assistant director of the BRAG club in Bloomington. HD/B of Bloomington is a GREAT dealership, and I'm happy to associate with them.

I'll send you a private message about the PCIII.

When you say "hiccups" what do you mean? Are you meaning to smooth out the dips in the power curve or does the bike sputter? If it sputters, it may need a TPS reset, or maybe the TPS reset wasn't done properly in the first place.

XB12S here with the Techlusions and Jardine. I keep hearing around here (Austin TX) that the Techlusions is crap. I didn't notice any difference when I installed it. Yall think I should dump it for the PC3?

I am very pleased with my PCIII. I just set the high performance O2 sensor to #2 rich from my laptop and then I adjusted the PC manually two positions rich in low, mid and high with excellent results. It runs very well with no hiccups in fuel delivery. The O2 sensor can be purchased at the auto parts store.
