I think another key point to examine is the steering bearings torque. My wifes XB had some shake upon braking (see also decel as mentioned above). Was cured by loosening the clamps and re-torquing the bearings. Could this be the issue? |

All very good and interesting points. Very assuring to see that the Factory is involved. Thanks |

So we're having a nice Indian Summer and here I am without a bike. The RS tank is still getting repaired at a local boat shop (had I know it would take this long I'd have gone with an AirTech) and now my FJR is in the shop. 3 weeks ago I dropped it off due to a "cough" or "click" at idle. It sounded like the bike would shut off momentarily. It also has poor gas mileage (~38MPG) but great tire life (7.5k Z4s / 8+k Z6s) and a buzz in the grips around 4500 that really kills my hands. 3 weeks and multiple calls to Yamaha and no one has any clue what's wrong. Old tech is broken, new tech is broken ... |

Josh: Just keep repeating in a low mantra.... ST....ST....ST....ST 41k miles in 19 months: Change tires + Change Oil= RIDE, RIDE, RIDE Ride long and prosper. Neil S. Hey, I have to work tomorrow and Sunday, you know where I live, she's all yours. |

Josh, My RS is slowly getting road worthy. Got a box from TA today with some printed stuff and a enricher cable. The to do list is getting shorter every day. -convert back to a CV / done -get and install enricher cable / done -replace fork seals / done -new chain / done(do need to shorten it a couple links) still need to finish fitting the right side panel |

Im a rider and not a wrencher so help me out here guys. i am getting ready to order a new buell and am looking for the trickest and most worth while mods i can make. it may sound bad but money isnt really an issue ive been working in baghdad for over two years now. most important to me are the engine mods what out there is worth the money and gives the best results? then comes wheels, tires, intake, exhaust, sliders, bar mirrors, and have not decided on exchanging the swing arm for a chain drive. any and all help will be great. cool pics wont hurt either. thanks |

DAve, I can't even get Josh to bite . Since Shadowfax went lame (or her new owner, I should say) Josh has just lost that sparkle in his eye, hmmm, and to think he wouldn't even take me up on my offer for Indigo today. Afterall, I'm only 5 hours away! Hey Josh, did I tell you that KYDOT put up some real nice reflective arrows on that "S-turn" by my house. They must have seen you trying to shortcut that turn (one of the few times I ever beat Josh thru a turn)! Time4Lunch Neil S. |

I'm not grinding an Axe, I'm Whining. Big difference >one of the few times I ever beat Josh thru a turn One of the few times I tried to go *straight* through a corner. It's dark, I see NeilS directly ahead about 100yards .. how was I supposed to remember the road jogged betwix he and I. It's that brief moment when you know for a fact you are going straight ... yet your headlight shows you moving rapidly towards the ditch. |

JOsh and Neil: There's a left hander from construction still on 28 still just south (east) of Fontana. I imagine it's like the one ya went through. If you go straight, you're just in the paved, but construction side of the highway. Makes for a good shortcut. I was referencing some of the ol' BadWebbers stepping in. The axe comment was not targeting either of ya and misplaced. Seems there is tension on the BadWeb in other places that casts a darkness on the whole board. It's kinda like when Mom & Dad would fight. You didn't really care what it was about, you love 'em both and just wanted it to stop. DAve |

Hey Neil! Please post a nice lengthy story about your two wheeled adventures replete with pics and details. Good to see you back on BadWeB. Take it easy on the rest stop fencing big guy. That there be taxpayer funded architecture. |

Blake: I've just been lurking since I've been Buell-less for the last 14 months and, didn't want to upset the current crop of Bad-webbers with my non Buell adventures. Besides in the last 40,000+ miles there has only been a few trips to the BRP, MO, AR, KY, OH, VI, NC, SC, GA, TN, AL, MS, IL, IN and a few points in between. Some may say that it hasn't really been "quality" riding since most of my miles are just commuting to work (right MRR ). So a hearty hello to Badweb and if you see a Blue ST1300 with too many headlights and tail lights blowing past you on the road, it's probably me grining from turn-to-turn. Time2Work (Yeah even on Sunday, but it's raining) Neil S.

Dave, I don't think anyone has put it as eloquently as you. Seems there is tension on the BadWeb in other places that casts a darkness on the whole board. It's kinda like when Mom & Dad would fight. You didn't really care what it was about, you love 'em both and just wanted it to stop. Perfect. How can we help them to sort out their problems? |

I think they need to talk with a marriage guidance councellor, so that even if they can't get back together, the can let go of the bitterness. Who do you reckon Mum is....? <running and ducking in case all 6'3" of her has a wooden spoon> |

Jeez Neil, With the light output of the ST, do you need 4 aux lights? I put two fogs on mine but hardly ever turn them on. 40K in 16 months, cool! |

Has anyone tried the wrapping approach for a bike finish? I saw the process on speed tv and thought it was a great alternative to custom painting. http://www.ad-wraps.com/ dark_vapor |

It's been a long time since I've posted in this forum. Seemed like the original people had better thing to do. It sure is nice to read old friends posts again. I guess it's time to bury the hatchet. |
