Is the pro series muffer not hot stuff anymore? Has anyone complied a list of mufflers and reported their gains? http://a1276.g.akamai.net/7/1276/1354/5f75580e73ea6b/www.buell.com/images/produc ts/apparelaccessories/productimages/65163-02YB_large.jpg |

I wanted to show the pipe that i have. I hear all this talk about jardin, two brothers, and now drummer. Has I've seen mag articles where they dynoed different pipes to see the gains. So I was wondering if there was anything like that around... |

Drummer/ Drummer SS make most power, D&D is the loudest and most harley sounding, Jardine is bang for buck. The race pipe isn't poop anymore. |

Cheapest I've found is $489 plus $20 shipping. And FYI, by most Harley sounding I meant obtrusively loud, burbling, popping, open-pipe-thumping v-twin. (Message edited by Nasty73z on November 14, 2005) |

Hmmm!!! That's funny mine doesn't sound like a open pipe,Burbling or even popping at all.Its got a sound of its own. The only thing you really have correct is its loud. |

Ok, for a more serious answer on the pro series muffler. It makes good gain over stock. Nice thing about it is you can buy the race kit and it comes with it making it the easiest to get with less confusion or work overall. |

One thing to consider is that you can't compare one dyno to another...too many variables. There's one shop in our area that routinely miraculously and instantly gains 10-15hp for people through "tuning." People go else where and complain about losing their power! That's am extreme case but there's often a few hp variance between dynomometers of the same manufacturer. |

they all work the same and they are all as good as each other. Until the day when they are all tested back to back on the same bike on the same dyno no one can state otherwise, it will never happen so the choice is up to you to find the one that blows your skirt up. choose that and be happy. |

That is highly inaccurate. There are engine dyno's and chassis dyno's, inertia dyno's and brake dyno's...and everything in between. |

dyno's are just a tuning aid and should be used as such.... take a stock bike to a dyno and run it,any mods should be run on the same dyno on the same day as soon as possible to negate any temp or air pressure differences....... but stick to the same dyno to compare readings.its the only way to know if any improvements have been made... might not be best for bar room bragging, but where it counts its the only way to go |

I have an 05' xb12R with the D&D, I bought it from Al at American Sport Bike and picked it up Shipping and Handling was the cost of about a gallon of gas. The second you put it on and crank it you will have a grin that you can't get rid of. I have taken it in the canyons outside of San Diego. The sound is awesome and you will notice gains in the lower and midrange RPMs. Don't worry about the Dyno man.... The sound coming off the cars when you split lanes will make numbers meaningless... |

i have a d&d on one bike, and had the full force system on the other. the d&d is awesome. i will say however, from experience, that the buell race pipe has more low end power than any of the others just about. the force was alot of fun. it scared the shiot out of everyone i passed. we were in indiana picking up my xb9r, the one that had the force pipe, and there is no helmet law. i blew past new12r and he said his ears were ringing forever. it was great. then i let him ride my bike and i was on his 12r with buell race pipe. i was way ahead of him, and i still couldnt here his bike (the one i was on) over mine. if you have sensitive ears, stay away from the force, and if you get the d&d, you might want to wear earplugs. i dont, but some cant ride without them. another pipe you might want to try is the special ops pipe. it is a great pipe, extremely affordable, makes great power, and odie is a super great guy to deal with. |
