Whoa!!!!!

That puts a whole new spin on group riding!!

That reminded me why I signed up for an accident scene class being offered by one of the local hospitals with Silver Eagle HD/Buell.

You never know what you might ride up on!

If anyone is having trouble seeing the photos at the link Iamike posted, I could not see them until I turned my firewall (Norton Internet Security) off.

i bought the S first being that it was my first bike and it felt more comfortable and unintimidating than the R model. but as i hit the track more and more, i began to realize i needed to be stretched out further; hence the conversion.

ideally, one would have a 9R for track, a 12S for commuting, town riding, and an Ulysses for touring.

i rode a 9r today for the first time. it felt more relaxed and much smoother through the revs. i can see this greatly enhancing throttle control over that of the 12. all that said, the 12 has noticeably more power. so for me, i'll learn to control the twist and keep the extra juice.

i'm sure there are other reason why some prefer the 9. perhaps you should post your question in the xboard.

went to the nec bike show in brum this week.harleys stand was good but the buell stand was a bit bland.i am hoping for buell to produce a full on race bike.ducati are pushing for an increase in engine capacity for worldsuperbike racing,to 1200 cc for v twins.buell should back them for a 1100 cc hike and 1200 for aircooled pushrod v twins.then produce a limited 150 run with everything thrown at it - every light weight and performace product out there.that would certainly draw attention to any buell show stand.while there i bought some titainium nuts and bolts for my 99 m2.one was a 16mm flanged nut for the front axle,it fitted perfectly and looks great,i highly recommend getting one.

Are any of the XB/Ulysses owners experiencing Head Shake under deacelleration?

Seems as though the new Ulysses has a head shake "issue" at about 80 mph. There is a thread on AdvRider.com about it.

You're probably referring to Eor's issue, which he's describing here:

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show.cgi?tpc=6817&post=540829#POST 540829

Don't think we're talking a widespread outbreak. So far I've only seen Eor describing this (or was there one more ??), so let's keep it in perspective.

Henrik:

Correct you are, however, another Uly rider (Brad) claimed he also was experiencing the same issue in a post today.

I agree that it is not an epedemic at this time, however, being a good Buell Owner we must protect the name !!

Our Uly is to be shipped the 31st. So as you can understand we want to try and understand the "issue" if there is one.

Thanks for the input.

Tom

Every issue I've heard of has been taken care of by setting up the suspension for the riders weight. Some of the racers have it as well, because they have been lowering the triples, in that case since adjustment is out, they've simply added a damper.

Glitch is correct. It is an indication that the suspension is not set up coirrectly.

The XB line is seeming more sensitive to setup that any other bike on the road.

Hotrodsportster-

I haven't experienced any headshake on the Uly, and have run speeds up to 100MPH with a good long run at 90MPH (and have the ticket to prove it. )

I'm guessing they will find something out-of-sorts with Eeyors bike. Either a manufacturing glitch on his particular unit or a setup issue...

From the service he's been getting, Buell is very comitted to getting this right!
