Check out some of the sponsors in the "Sponsor New, information, and cool stuff" in particular Cycle-rama and Revolution Performance.

Oh the revolution performance were the ones i was looking at. I was just wondering about some feedback on them. How much money does it really take to get a good kit and all the parts.. stuff like that

Do you want to do the work yourself, ship the engine, or ship the whole bike?

Best bet is to call the performance shop and let them answer your questions directly. Both will treat you well.

The big bore 1150cc kit includes cylinders and pistons. To really take advantage of that a little head porting and intake matching is in order as well as some EFI augmentation and a performance exhaust.

Dana P. has been looking into similar work. Maybe he'll chime in.

I've been thinking about this as well. I believe this work is the morally correct thing to do.

with the temperatures I see from my stock 1200cc engine I would hate to see how how a big bore engine gets

If the heads are matched to the big bore kit, it may run a little cooler.

The Axtell & Millenium big bore kits have Nikasil bores instead of iron liners. This aids heat dissipation, which means the motor will run cooler and the cylinders should last longer.

I was curious about these upgrades too. I’ve checked the entire sponsor site list, and some others, but have yet to see a Dyno for an XB12 with some of these mods. Are they rarely done? I know some of the racers must have had some of these performance mods done. I would really like to flatten out the power curve and pick up some response in the midrange, as well as some added horsepower. I’m waiting for this new programmable ECU to make it’s debut to help with the midrange, I’m a little leery of the Techlusion TFI.

Since this is a major question of many of the XBrs here, I took some time and got some estimates from Brian at Revolution Performance. Pammy is supposed to be working up some for Cycle-Rama too and we'll post those asap. Forget my initial spec calling for a carburetor conversion Pammy, let's hear what you can do with your preferred EFI augmentation or ECM cracking/hacking module/device. : )

Stage-II XB9 1050cc/90RWHP Engine Kit(installed/tested/tuned): $2566.80 + shipping

3-9/16" bore Revolution cylinders
10.5:1 pistons, pins, clips, rings
1.85" Cylinder Head prep
Complete Top End Gasket Set
Injection controller box
Shipping crate
Full dyno testing/tuning

Stage-II XB12 1250cc/110RWHP Engine Kit (installed/tested/tuned): $4,055.95 + shipping

3-9/16 bore Revolution cylinders
10.5:1 pistons, pins, clips, rings
1.85 Cylinder Head prep
Complete Top End Gasket Set Techlusion
TFI Management System
Matching Street Performance Camshafts per customer's desired powerband characteristics
Chromoloy Adjustable Pushrods
Collapsible Pushrod Tube Kit w/Billet Bases
Bore and Re-plate Throttle Body (customer supplied)
Forcewinder XR2 Aircleaner Kit
Performance Lifter Kit
Shipping crate
Full dyno testing/tuning

You can find all the above on the Revolution Performance web page.

You can subtract $500 from each of the above if you plan on doing the work/install/test/tune yourself. : ) The $500 is a major bargain!

Acceptable cams for the 1250cc kit are specified on a case-by-case basis to best meet each customer's desired powerband characteristics.

Acceptable mufflers or exhaust systems include pretty much any reputable aftermarket brand of your choice including the Drummer, D&D, Buell Race can, etc. Choose the one who's power band characteristics fit your desired result.

Any questions? Please post here or call the shop. : )

I had a 1050 bore kit on the 9R I rode when I was in Waterloo.

We could also do one up for you.
2 dynos,no waiting!

If you want, I can figure up a price for you when I get back to work. Probably be close to the other quote except for the 10% Badweb discount.

If you have trouble compressing the image to upload, email it to me and I'll do it fer ya. : )

FYI, if you've already posted an image to BadWeB, the \imagelink{URL of Pic File Here} is a great bandwidth and disk space saver. : )
