Well, I would say that, that isnt bad... I wont say what I paid for mine, or what I have put into it..thoguh I will say I paid below market value... Check the VIN, and see if it came as a nuike blue/black.....bike... Again, as far as I know, it started in 99.... Chase |

spyder, what model is the bike?? I thought X1's started in 99 You can probably get a hold of Daves here on this board and he could check the VIN info for you. the price seems to be a high average price I paid less that that for a 99 with under 1000k My friend bought a 00 for around 4100 with 5 k miles, it needed tires though. |

I don't know about the Black/Nuc' Blue combo for an S1 in '98 but it could very well be. Nuclear Blue was available in '98! Very nice. check the VIN and see if it's not an S1W...I'm not sure that a VIN will tell you what color the bike was built with but it will tell you whether it was an S1 or an S1W...very easy to swap body pieces on the tube frame bikes. If the bike is 'clean' as far as not beat up and runs tight and straight, a Nuc' Blue and Carbon Black S1 should be a real 'looker' ...if you can afford it, just get it and enjoy the ride. |

In 98 a S1W in Black w/ Nuclear Blue frame was available. Of course the best 98 S1 is Molten Orange w/ Nuclear Blue, and not using the FAT tank. |

"iits not a white lightning, just a normal s1 lightning" ...How do you know it's 'just a normal S1 lightning'? VIN? If it's in stock configuration (rare) it comes from the S1W frame color/body color that 1313 has just posted... look at the 4th & 5th characters of the VIN...SS is 'just a normal S1 lighting'. Even then, you have a fine motorcycle!! Get it before someone else does. |

Brankin, I'm jealous. I lost all my old advertising from pre '99 Buells. Spider, I may be wrong but I didn't think regular S1's had the nuke blue option. Price is not bad for a S1W, prolly more than I'd be willing to pay for a regular S1 though since it doesn't have the thunderstorm heads. Just my 2 cents. -Mike |
