My new Micron Serpent pipe arrived today. The packaging was very good. Overall fit and finish looks very good as well. One thing I found strange was that the directions say to use the origional header crush washers. Should I replace these? If so what should I get? If you have questions, fire away. No pics right now, the batteries in the camera are dead and I don't have any to replace them with. |

If you pull off the headers it's best to replace those washers. Just a good rule of thumb. |

P.S. I have a sound clip if someone can host it. You need to have an MPEG2 codec for it to work. |

You might be able to put it at putfile.com |

Do you mean the sound? Seems pretty good, but thats just from the file that I have/had. Can't seem to find it right now for some reason. Still looking. First impression of the pipe is that it looks very well made. |

Dan, there are FEW THINGS ON EARTH as loud as your M2. OK HERE IT IS GUYS! IF IT DOESN'T WORK YOU MAY NEED TO DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL AN MPEG2 CODEC!!! http://media.putfile.com/Buell-Micron-Serpent-Exhaust (Message edited by indy_bueller on November 01, 2005) |

For those thinking of getting a Micron, you need to be aware that they now have two seperate models available for the XB series. The model number HYD-BU01 fits all the XB models except the Ulysses and has had a small redesign of the outlet pipes to fit with the new XB12SS belt guard. Model HYD-BU02 is just to fit the Ulysses and has the exit pipes angled down by 5 degrees to clear the belt. |

Link works for me. Sounds cool...not what I'm used to at all. I'm just running a Spec. ops pipe and it sounds ALL Harley. This sounds...different...higher tone maybe...def a bit more European/exotic sounding. Have to hear one in person hopefully. I may get one just because it's new, different. Would like to see a couple dyno charts. BTW Indy, you said whole set up weighed 17.5lbs...did you throw the whole stock set up on your scale as well? Just curious. Thanks for the clip. TK |

This sounds...different...higher tone maybe...def a bit more European/exotic sounding. It is a very deep rumble, border line Ducatish. I can guarantee that sound file is doing no justice for the sound. Before taking the dive to buy one hear it in person first, you will be pleasantly surprised. J |

Raptor and I installed the pipe today and I'm totally in love with it. As for the sound, think Buell Race pipe with a twist and some more attitude. Those unusual tips add a very pleasing rattle on decel. It idles very quiet. When you get on it, well its just kinda hard to describe. You have to hear it yourself. I can say it is quieter than the Special Ops. I had to wear earplugs with the 'Ops, but not with this one. STP dyno tells me I definately picked up some power. Power delivery is very linear, I ran it to the rev-limiter several times and it was constant, pulling like crazy all the way. Theres a slight stumble at 1500 RPM when revving it up at idle, but none that I found while riding. To sum up, I LOVE it. Its a great system. Installation instructions are very good. It took us about 5 hours to do the job. It would have been closer to 3.5, but we ran around for awhile looking for a tool we needed, and we did have a couple "dumba$$" moments. We also made a video, which I will try to get posted this weekend if possible. |

Just got it to work. Sounds pretty good, almost like 2 big single 4 stroke dirt bikes running side by side. |
