Hi Guys, Well here I am at last riding a Buell. Can not come to grips with it just yet, but seem to go around with a permanent smile on my face when the topic of bikes is brought up. Had a Moto Guzzi 750 Nevada, my husband Opto had a XB12S, but was never game to get on his Baby. Boy was I over the moon when the Ulyssess came out..... What about the renovations he cried!! Who cares!! Being the perfect wife I sacrificed these material things and said "Go on buy it. I know this is what you have been waiting for" Little did he know that I had finally got what I wanted the XB12S, along with Megasquirt (He finally got it right..What an extra) a Drummer, throw in the Uly hand grips, the new Uly clutch and a low seat all the way from Daves in the USA (thanks Dave)Do I feel GUILTY... no I think God will forgive me after all Opto is happy and so am I. It's early days for me, but I love the way the Buell has given me the confidence to ride in a way I have never felt before. Being 5' nothing the weight of bikes has always been an issue for me, the Buell seems to hug me close and assure me I am under control. Never ever experienced that before. It is an amazing thing to respect the ability of a bike, and to know that it will acknowledge your respect by making you look a much better rider than you really are. Anyway, here I am and just wanted to say hello, and how glad and happy I am not just to know my man rides a Buell, but to finally belong to the Buell Family myself. Stay Upright and be Safe, Jannelle |

Well, welcome aboard Bindy. I don't post much, but I happen to be lurking here tonight for a few minutes to see what is new. As you already know, and since Opto is already a part of the bad weather webbers, this is a great board...lots of good info. Enjoy that Buell...and the Bad Weather Bikers! Welcome aboard...Cyko Bob |

Welcome aboard Jannelle and congrats on inheriting a great running bike. Your husband is one of my favorite badweebbers and a great customer of Drummer Racing Products. I think he has more Drummers than Kevin! Tell him that Kevin has made 9 Uly specific Drummers already. |

very cool Janelle, welcome to the Badweb, and i am glad to hear you have inherited the mega squirt Lightning. , five foot nothing, and tiptoing around, you may well enjoy a corbin saddle, they are somewhat narrower, and a touch lower than stock. real comfortable for long days. enjoy... dean |

Hello Janelle, Could you get Opto to give us some more info on his megasquirt install? I tried the search but couldn't find anything. I'm interested in knowing how he got round the sequential/non sequential issue. Cheers Martin |

Well here I sit overwhelmed and feeling really special. Thanks Guys, did not know whether I was supposed to respond or not, Opto said "Do what makes you happy" so here I go..... Cyko_bob: I am so glad you were lurking around, feel real special that since you do not post much you took the time to post to me. Was really worried that since I was not asking any questions or technical data that no-one would respond. Was thrilled to get your email. Daves: What can I say the parts arrived when you said, great packaging mate, and you've made me one happy woman. We won't be buying from anywhere else that's for sure. Again thanks for doing exactly what you promised. Truk: Hey it's just beginning to hit me how lucky I am to have the bike I am riding. Jerseyguy: You won me with the fact that Opto is one of your favourite Webbers. As far as the Drummers go, yes we have a collection. My favourite is the SS Drummer, do not why Opto took so long to buy it. Would have loved her for Bindy Buell, but she's off back to the States to be modified for the Uly. Never mind I still have the standard drummer that has a fatlet that talks away to me. You have gotta love that. Fullpower: Yes I tippy toe around, but since I complained about the standard when Opto pillioned me, and he got the softer seat, reckon I am happy enough with the low seat. Somehow I do not think I should push my luck, 3 seats for one bike... well you never know 4 could be a good number. Thanks for the info. Blake: I am deeply honoured to hear from the "Big Kahuna". Opto has stressed that I am to watch my P's and Q's, and that you run a great website. He has warned me that you do not hesitate to let the person posting know if you are not happy with content. I hope I never do anything to cause your wrath!!!! Martin: My heart goes out to you, and I have passed on your request. Being married to a crazed Electronic nut I hope he puts you out of your misery asap. Roly: Hello to you too,yes I am happily riding. Smile is huge already and the weekends do not seem to come around fast enough. Glitch: Thanks mate, means a lot to me that you took the time to say Hi! Kds1: Hi Kevin, did not know it was you till I got home, and Opto told me. Love ya work!! My fault we have so many drummers, I keep telling him not to be a skirt, and off we go "two up" and seem to get dings in them!! Do not know if Opto has told you or not, but if it had not been for one of your Drummers we would have been in big trouble. Went to visit my brother out in the bush, his driveway or should I say "goat track" was a bit of a worry. We skated on the muffler down rocks, no tyre contact at all. Any other muffler would have rip off and the consequences are not worth thinking about. Opto was a bit peeved at having dinted our Drummer, I of course just looked at Opto and said, "Okay, it has a couple of dints, adds character". Opto has been really slack and not sent back the SS Muffler to get modified for the Uly, if he does not get his act together soon, it is definitely going on my bike!!! Cyclonemanic: Cant wait till I do not sound so green, then I will post you. Opto is a bit sick of hearing every little detail about my rides, but can't help myself. One thing about Bindy Buell is she will do exactly what you ask of her. Although this is a good thing, I am learning quickly "Look where you wanna go not where you don't" and do not think it, cause she will take you there!! This has been a BIG learning curve, but the greatest thing is when you realise you thought it and she's done it, just tip her in and she has the good grace to bring you back on track. Any of my other bikes would not have been so forgiving. You just feel okay that was a bit scary, but everthing is under control, and next time girl tip her in a bit more. Sorry Cyclonemanic, you may regret saying you want to hear from me. Anyway Guys, what can I say to you all, except thanks. I am one happy welcomed BWB. Stay Upright and Be Safe, Bindy |

Bindy, "Big"? Maybe-kinda. "Kahuna"? Thank your for that very diplomatic characterization. Reading your posts and gleaning from them your wonderful enthusiasm brings back a lot of great memories for me in my early Buell years. Thanks for that. Blake (the big ) |

Hi everyone. Just joined today (first time on site) very good site. Hope to get my Uly in the next couple of days, the next one in is mine! This will be my first Buell and my first street bike! I have waited for years and almost bought a Suzuki V-Strom. I am sure that the wait was worth it (and I havent even ridden it wet!!) Anyway, I'm glad to be here and I'm sure I will learn alot from all of you. Tim |

Welcome to both-a-ya's! This is a great place to hang out. The only down-side is you end up spending WAYYYY to much time here (relative to other "things" which need to be done...such as feeding pets, going to sleep on time, etc.) Yawnnnn! Many's the time I've looked up from the screen to see it's well after midnight and I have to work the next day. Oh well, work can wait..... |

Hiya Tim, Congratulations on your soon to be Uly, and welcome to the Buell Family. What a way to start your street bike career. Impressive! Really a magnificent bike, I still look at it and think how awesome. You are in for the time of your life, if my man's reaction is anything to go by. Have not been on it two up yet, as he is still running his in,(or so he tells me!!) but can't wait to hit the dirt on it. We have taken the XB12S on the dirt and that was a hoot, so Uly will just be even better. Hope the days go quick for you... HAVE FUN!! Stay Upright and Be Safe, Bindy |

Bindy, post away! I especially like to hear from new riders/and or new Buell owners. After riding for many years, it's all too easy to forget the joys and challenges of learning to ride and/or learning a new bike. Just one rule though, don't ever stop learning! I've been at the scooter game for twe uh er, a long time. (he he) I hope I never stop learning. So post away!

Yeeha!!!!! One more sleep. Great news. Guess what I have great news too, Opto says I can have the SS Drummer for my bike. Boy can't believe it, just love that man of mine! Will keep you posted Kevin and do my best not to ding it. It is a masterpiece!!! How many girls can boast a bike like mine, I am in heaven!!! Snub13 really excited for you, and trust me once you come to grips with how good the Uly is you WILL go off road. Stay Upright and Be Safe, Bindy |

Thanks Cyclonemanic, Opto could do with the break! I am booking in for a Braking & Cornering Course. Bindy Buell is completely different to anything I have ridden, so think it will be a good idea. So does Opto, although he assures me it is not a reflection on my riding capabilities.. just will make HIM feel better. So be prepared for a Blow By Blow description once I have done it. Hee! Hee! Well it's Friday here in Aussie, raining but they reckon it will clear up by tomorrow. Wonder what I will be doing??!! Will post you Monday, take care. Be Safe and Stay Upright, Bindy |

Kevin, I finally got a SS O2 bung welded onto the SS Drummmer for the wideband O2 sensor (by a licensed aircraft welder - he did a neat job) so will be able to check fuel requirements this weekend or within the month. There's been a bit of Drummer activity here this week, the only left hand drive one (an original std Drummer without fatlet - I think it was the first left hand drive made) which was fitted to the XB12S got robbed to be fitted to the Uly just before it had to go in for it's first service, I didn't want the service dept to frown on the RHS exit Drummer being close to the belt guard. So then I needed a Drummer with O2 sensor bung for the XB12S and its Megasquirt FI. It turned out the SS Drummer could have a bung fitted immediately so I went that way. It think it will have a better chance of survival on the XB12S as that bike will not see much or any 2-up riding any more (no more bottoming out on the rough roads). We will look after it and keep it polished, won't we Jannelle? Tim, hope you love your Uly, they are a real pleasure to ride, you really have spoilt yourself. |

Sorry Captainkirk did not mean to ignore you. Know what you mean though, I get on at work...Opto hogs the line at home. Was only thinking yesterday if I do not get off this site and do some work I won't be riding Saturday, and we just can't have that! I have sneaked on now while he is out testing the SS Drummer on Bindy Buell. Blake you make me laugh, every time I read that line I can't help but smile! Yeah on my old racing leathers, but would have to oil them down so I could move, let alone trying to squeeze this middle age spread into them.. reckon I would break out in a sweat just trying to get them on!! Besides not quite the look for a training course!!!! Glitch Neat profile site!! Oh Kevin do you have a way with the ladies... I was #2 after Bindy Buell then relegated to #3 after the addition of Uly. #1 I love it!!!! Well she's on, it just takes my breath away! Had to take the Bikini top off, but hey it gets hot here in Brissie, and besides just love that naked look! Bindy Buell loves her, she is making a real mellow hum.. like a cat purring with contentment. Onya Opto what's this WE business!!! All the same Kevin I promise to look after the SS and as I said love being #1 will wear the tag with great pride and honour. Take Care, Be Safe and Stay Upright, Bindy |
