Anyone have any suggestions on breaking the threads loose on the stock O2 sensor? I just can't get it to budge and I am afraid I am going to strip the threads. |

Al, if the header pipe is still on the bike it may be difficult to do but try some heat application with a torch on the header. I'm assuming you've tried some WD-40, etc. I have a couple stock sensors here. If you mess yours up let me know and I'll send you one. Good luck, Odie. |

Actually Odie, I am trying to remove the stock one so I can get the high performance Bosch installed. I am going to use some penetrant and if that doesn't work I will get the torch out. |

I didn't know if you were coating the header or what. My stock one came out easily (I know you don't want to hear that) at around 7000 miles. I used a crowsfoot (7/8" I think). Make sure some anti-seize goes on the new one!! |

Like Odie suggests...I've always had good luck with a hardware store propane torch to heat it up a bit. Maybe attempt to run the bike to operating temp then break it loose. (Wear the mechanics gloves!) DAve |

Mine was way too tight when I replaced it. I had to pull like hell to break it loose with a crows foot. Be SURE to take that right side cowl off before breaking out the torch. |

Alstroker, how is the 'high-perf' Bosch sensor different than stock? From your profile it seems you aren't running mods. Did you buy part no. 12014 (stock equivalent) or is that the three-wire heated one (p/n 15716) i've read about in the archives? Curious 'cause i'm replacing mine when the white stuff starts to fall. thnx. |

The high performance sensor is the Bosch 15716. This is a four wire sensor with a different connector on the end. I have just installed the PCIII so that is why I am using the sensor. There is no way to use the high performance sensor without using the PCIII since this sensor plugs into the PCIII and then the PCIII plugs into the stock O2 sensor wire. The connections are different. Thanks for the help guys. Got it out. |

I checked the PowerCommand website. They don't list one for any Buells. Is this a "double secret" PowerCommander? |

They are the discontinued ones for the x1. |
