I have had a pic of the lightning xb9sx on my desktop for months. Finally sent my wife to the local h-d dealership to pick one out. Got a call later that day, jones is no longer carrying buell. totally bumbed the rest of the night and the next day till wife calls around 5:30, "hey babe I (kathie) have my surgery tom wed. and come home fri. but if you can wait, bumpas h-d in memphis has your bike ready to be picked up on saturday. Holy crap what a wife, stairing at the knife of surgery and she buys me my second bike of our marrage. surgery goes great, and on sat my neihbor takes me on the two hour ride to memphis on his electra glide. spend two hours on the deliver process, these people really lay out the red carpet and finally get to see a lightning in person for the first time and its mine. stood and stared at it for 15 minutes before i got on it and have had a blast every since.....what about your story...... |

I went in to get the store stamp for the first free shirt give away, ended up buying my S2. (It has turned out to be a VERY expensive free shirt.) |

You should have left it at a "Thanks man" no reason to bring your sisters in to this. |

When the XB's were introduced, I said to myself: ONE DAY, I WILL HAVE ONE. So, about two years later, I wander into the dealer after work on a Monday just for a "test fit". The first one I sat on was just a little tall so I asked the salesman if any of the others was a "low" model. He searched the computer for a minute and says, "The one you tried IS a "low". I took delivery that Saturday. tank |

I wasn't even home when I got mine. I travel a lot (air national guard). I test rode a 12r in Maryland, loved it. Bought one over the phone at a local HD dealer who took it in trade but don't sell buells, while I was in Texas. Came home and picked it up. |

I have always since I was a little kid loved buells and said that some day i will have one. This past summer I went on a demo ride and fell in love but that dealer didnt have the color I wanted so I called the other local dealer to me, they said they had one and I would be up there to TALK about it, when i got there they had a tag on it with my last name and SOLD right next to it.....enough said |

I stopped by Earl Small Harley and set on one and decided that I would get one. So I sold my motard and went on the hunt. Found one on this forum so cheap that I did not waste anytime in getting it. Drove from north Ga. to Mich. and picked her up. It has to be the best bargain I have ever got in my life. 5000.00 for a bike with 1750 miles, extra bodywork, two seats, tankbag, bra,and shop manual. I am one happy person. |

I sold all my bikes about 10 years ago, when kids came into the picture. Never lost the itch, and always wanted a Buell though, so still spent a LOT of time wandering dealerships with my kids. I went to Western Reserve H-D/ Buell with my daughter to pick up a free BUELL hat, found a untitled yellow 03 Lightning (the one that had been on my PC desktop since around mid 02), drooled and dreamed over it for a few minutes and went home. My Wife asked if I saw any I liked, I just mentioned the Lightning, and nothing more was said. Three days later, on her day off from work, she took me back to buy it as a late 40th Birthday gift!!! Last weekend it magically became a red 12R, with her blessing once again! Great Wife, great bikes, expensive hat! -Mike |

Rageon, Too funny....No disrespect littleboyblue but i did a double take when reading you rode on the back of your nieghbors bike for 2hrs...I just didnt have it in me to comment on it....But Rageon did and i must admit I laughed my off....2 hrs is long time to be nuts to butts, 1min is too long, even the thought is too long...Thanks Rageon for the laugh and of course Congrats on the bike.....Youll love it.. |
