Mileage Update from Chris: "Charles, from Shazams notes it appears to be 27049 for your starting mileage, Loren had 3220 ? I'd like to have a Bueller party at the end of the year, not at Gail's. It would be a good time to give a mileage award. Let me know if there's anything else I can help with. Chris" I currently have ~38,600 miles right now. Minus the 27,049 I started with, puts me at about 11,551 miles this year. If Loren has over 15k and started with 3.2k, he is clearly the current leader in this race. Loren, your kung fu is clearly the best. And your the most calloused. Anyone else close? It's not over yet! (Message edited by kcfirebolt on October 11, 2005) |

Charles, I'm sitting at around 16K miles (about 13K for the year). Looks like you are just one business trip away from winning the calloused arse award. It sounds like Paul has put a lot miles on doing the daily sprint to and from work. Paul what's your story? It's not over yet! That's right not until the fat lady sings! |

The car reads 253,000..... THIS one's off a '86 honda but I think I can make it fit, depending on what it's worth to someone. By the way Dave, I opted myself out of the award eligibilty....not that it matters this year. I'm about 8,000 miles............... behind theses guys!

We've decided to have a pot luck dinner at the Nov. 17 meeting. We need commitments for meat, side dishes, and deserts. E-mail me at Ship@FeelthePower.com, or call me 913-908-2870 if you can make it, how many, and what you might be able to bring. Open to all Gail's Heartland Brag members. You guys missed a good steak diner after the meeting last week. We need to do that again.} |

As Chris mentioned above the Brag meeting this month is on the 17th, and we are going to do a dinner. this would be a good time for spouses and significant others to join you at the meeting. If you are interested in being there (rather than square) contact either Chris or myself. Also the December meeting will be the giveaway and awards for the mileage participants. I would like to have your current odometer readings at this (November) meeting so that the computations won't all have to be done at the meeting in December (anyone adding significant mileage between the two meetings can submit a revision). I will be calling as many of you as I have numbers for, in the interim, to flush you ladies out of the woodworks. The club only works for those who participate. I encourage everybody to ramp it up as the new year approaches. The dinner will be fun. See you guys soon. |

Sam, Westbound I-70 around Noland/Crysler, about 7am. Someone who looked a little like you pulled up along side me, rolled down the window and yelled something at me. (I was wearing earplugs.) Then rolled up the window and meandered off after I goose it and got the heck out of there. Don't call me for the dinner, nor the December meeting. I don't know about that! Charles is in the hunt and I thought we where going from January to January a full 12 months. I need December and January to close the deal. (Evil laugh) Paul, I bet if you have been commuting almost daily that you would be in the hunt too. |

Ok, I've been asked to explain: I really like the people in the BRAG group that I've met face-to-face. In fact, I feel bad about "dropping out" because I do like everyone. Especially those that made real efforts to make me (and Mary) welcome like Chris, Loren, Richie, Keith, and Drake, as well as others. I like the dealership although for expensive items I may go elsewhere. The issue is that I just don't fit in. Y'all do a lot of your group riding Thursday and Friday nights - I don't like riding in the evenings Mon-Fri. I like being with my family those evenings. I don't care for drag racing at KCIR. Y'all seem to like triple-digits - I don't. Y'all seem to like threading through traffic - not me. I do love the twisties with you on Hwy 149 (About 5mph slower would have been nice. I don't know how I lived through that day, much less actually walked away unscathed!) And, as Fester pointed out, a Sportster is not a Buell. (It is the Buell's ancestor.) Every-time I am with y'all, I get "Buell envy" - especially that darned Ulysses. (He was wrong about the Blast, though.) I am going to do some of the HOG rides when they go to neat places, but have decided to spend most of my riding time with my wife, or a third group that dedicates themselves to a very selfless community service. It is not a condemnation of BRAG, the members, nor Gail's. It is just that I feel I don't fit in. All my fault - none of yours. (Except Fester ) (Message edited by dustyjacket on November 02, 2005) |

Bill, sorry to hear you feel like you don't fit in. I don't care what you ride....you're a fellow motorcycles and like being on two wheels. The rest is just small stuff. Since Autocom is having a 1/2 price sale on there base kits I bought myself an early B-day present! I know Charles is using one and I saw Sam had a Chatterbox on his helmet during the FBRAT ride. Is there anyone else using bike to bike communication gear? Charles what two-way radio unit are you using? I already had a GMRS Motorola unit so I didn't spring for a new radio. |

I am not going "away". When I need a "fix" and y'all are doing a weekend twistie ride, I may tag along. Loren, it is not just what I ride, but more of how, when, and where. My Ulysses Envy is really ticking off my wife. |

Bill, I'm planning on using a Motorola Talkabout T5820 with the Autocom. It looked like the Autocom would work with most two-way GMRS & FRS radios. It takes a little digging on their site to find the right cables |

Cool. I'll have to dig some more. The web site seems to emphasis Kenwood. |
