It never seems to fail that whatever someone riding a Pro-Stock Firebolt is interviewed at the end of a round, there is no mention made for Buell. Buell decals on the bikes are small or non-existant, and the biggest logo I've seen is on Matt Guidera's leathers. When Chip Ellis won in Las Vegas yesterday, he thanked his "S&S Racing, G- Squared, Mac Tools thing that got him across the finish line first", or very similar words to that effect. Thing?!? I realize he was probably overwhelmed by the victory, but it seems that NO ONE gives a shout-out to Buell, especially when compared to when a Harley-Davidson Screamin' Eagle V-Rod or a Suzuki wins even a round. They ALWAYS get their by-line. Is there some sort of bad blood between S&S Racing and the Mothership in East Troy? Just curious . . . |

Harley is suing S&S for patent infringement. |

Tq freak, is that a production V-Rod? Faster than a busa from Harley? That is crazy, but cool if it is production. I'm sure the sticker is twice as large, but still cool. |

They are cool looking but I think I'd take a Busa for the money and still be able to ride it on the street. |

I imagine with some mods you could get the V-Rod back on the road, legal eagle |

Buell funded 3 road racing groups at the Club level this year with contingency money, only 1 drag racing group. I'd think if drag racing were a bigger deal to them, they'd put more contingency money into that form of racing. Yeah, HD seems to be more into drag racing. Buell more into road racing. |

I read in my magazine (either Motorcyclist or Cycle World) that they also have a version of this bike that is street-able, and they will make more of those. But yeah, give me my lightning any day - especially considering the $30K price. |

Low 9's are nice. Low 7's are nicer! When the V-Rods came on the scene in Pro-Stock, I always thought a Buell would be ideal: The aero advantage of the Suzukis with the V-Twin grunt of the Harley-Davidsons. Lo and behold, look what shows up about a season later! I totally agree that Buell's focus is on the twisty stuff. It should be too. But I'm very bummed to learn that S&S and H-D are in an adversarial relationship. Any press is good press, especially when you win! (Message edited by stevasaurus on October 26, 2005) |

This is Valerie on her own bike discussing new rearset placement with a builder. She can be found at www.vtracegirl.com I admit to having missed the last couple NHRA races, but until then anyone running the S&S motor and Buell bodywork either called them "S&S powered Buells" or the "GSquared/G2 Buells"... |

So has anyone blasted any more 6.99s or better in the big class. Next year I think I'm going to try my luck with the lightning at the strip |

Yep. Matt Hines on his V-Rod back in March. Check the link: http://www.nhra.com/APCM/templates/news_template.asp?articleid=3507&zoneid=8 |

The NHRA also, midseason added 40 lbs. to the minimum weight of V twins in pro stock bikes. Coincidentally, that announcement came a few days I believe after that run. |

We are getting a Destroyer in at Wild Boar Harley-Davidson (Hudsonville, MI)... I can't wait to see it personally. The bike is already sold, but hopefully it will be taken back there for service! |

Next year all the bikes (NHRA Pro Stock) have the same min. weight (615 lbs), the IL4's get a displacement increase and can use EFI. Frank |

That's actually good news FTD. At the U.S. Nationals this year, the advantage appeared to be in the HD corner so much that you could actually see how much faster the twins were going alongside the inline fours. I'm glad they're leveling the playing field again. |

I'd be much happier seeing Suzuki campaign a bike that could compete on its own merits. Years ago when the RC45 was shown up by the Ducati V-twins, Honda comes back with the RC-51. Couldn't Suzuki develop their own drag race twin and pretend it to be similar to a TL-1000 instead of the GSX-R? I guess I'll be happy enough with whatever happens as long as Antron Brown shuts his whiney pie-hole. |
