Anyone got a Drummer on their Uly? Seems I did pretty well on my quarterly performance review today, and as a result, can expect a nice little bonus check - was thinking of buying myself a Drummer as a reward to myself Anyway, I'm wanting it more so for sound than anything else and was wondering if someone has or could post a sound file? Also, if I get it, do I need to do anything else to the bike (re-map the ECU?), or can I pretty much just fit it and enjoy the sound as is? I'm kinda focusing on the original Drummer Anything else to consider (like outlet left or right, 12 gauge floor stiffener plate)? TIA -Jack |

I've had mine for a week. My new Uly(450 miles) sounds and runs great, is 6 pounds lighter, and has no more troublesome valve or cable issues. The servo motor is left untouched so as to keep the ECM happy. I have my outlet on the left to avoid slow roasting of the belt. I am not planning to do any rock surfing so I don't need no stinkin' stiffener plate. Just got the original Drummer- best aftermarket money I ever spent. The rest of the engine is completely stock and will likely remain that way. Call Kevin Drum tomorrow at 828-324-9991. He will be glad to talk to you about the muffler and probably let you send it back if not 100% delighted with the improvement. |

Rhino, send me your e-mail. I can send you a video of my drummer on a dyno. |

I'm a bit confused.... was the Drummer you installed a modified Ulysses exhaust or one from another Buell model? |

To everyone, The Uly and XB 12 mufflers are the same except the stock outlet location.....I've done 2 Ulys now and both customers have the same good things to say, so if you need to ask me anything call me...828-324-9991 The stock ecm and filter were left in place on both, I rode them both and lots of improved performance was very noticeable....the engine ran alot freer and little fan running after the bikes were stopped... Cool. The Uly definitely needs some help in the sound department and some performance improvement would be gravy. |

With Skeeter's permission, I've posted the file he sent me on my website for anyone else who might want to check it out - I'm guessing the Uly will have a similar sound... Cheers -Jack NB. file is about 7MB |

That sounds pretty good. What's the difference in dB level? |

After break-in I am making 91 hp and 75 ft/lbs of torque at red line on my "ULY", but it has 60 ft/lbs of torque at 2500 RPM. God I love this bike. We have picked up "Flow Master" as a race team sponcer for next year. And we also gave them a XB9 and XB12 can to use for fit. They will be supplying our two different race header pipes with mufflers. I had the pleasure of running their prototype M2 pipe earlier this year. They made it look just like a V&H slip on, it had a good deep non abrasive sound and for their first attempt it was only 1 hp less than the V&H. After speaking with their CEO I am excited about their plans on moving into the motorcycle performance muffler market, and it was nice to see that they are using Buell's to start. I will keep everybody informed as the testing goes forward. Terry |
