I'am having a problem with my older 97' cyclone. If I don't ride it at least once a week when I start it up it only runs on one cyl.I can over choke it to make it hit on two but it is just way lean. When I take the pilot jet out it is plugged with a hard white stuff. This has happened 5 times now.Has anyone run into this with older tanks? I've changed brands of gas as many times. The buell is parked inside and never left where I can't see it.Any help appreciated, Thanks Mike |

Zues11: "STP complete FUELL SYSTEM cleaner" As "PREVEVTIVE MAINTAINCE" every 5K ... "STA-BIL fuel stabilizer" Any time you are going to let you bike set unused for a long period of time ... "BATTERY TENDER PLUS" Get 12V @ 1.25 amps trickle charge ... When not riding it should be hooked to the "BATTERY" ... This is keeps the "BATTERY" fulley charged for constant quick starts ... It keeps the strain to a minimum on the charging system on the bike(can and will save $$$.$$) ... "BATTERY": Change it every TWO(2) YEARS evey if it still starts the bike ... Sometime after the TWO(2) YEAR aniversity you will be on the side of the road with a "BATTERY" that will not start your bike which is a bummer ... In BUELLing LaFayette |

Might try changing your spark plugs, and check for an intake manifold leak. The gunged-up pilot jet though is troubling. Try filling up at a different fuel station? LaFayette as always offers very sound advice too. |

Thanks for the replys.I do use fuel sta-bil and a battery tender, what I did not mention in my post was after I clean the pilot jet my bike flat gets with it! Problem is it only stays clean if I ride every week and I work out of town alot. Thanks again, Mike |

Zues11: When you get back from the ride and the bike is to set up for a period of time ... Turn the gas off and let the engine run until it quits ... In BUELLing LaFayette |

And keep the tank full of gasoline too. That will limit the amount of condensation to a minimum. |
