A couple of weeks ago, I handed fellow BadWeBer Jim (jim_sb) a check for his beautiful '96 Ca S2 and left the bike in his hands for a better pickup date. That date turned out to be this past Saturday. I've seen this bike before and always thought it was a very nice S2. I test rode it before I handed the check over - but it wasn't my bike yet and it just felt odd. Let me tell you - I am in love. What an AWESOME bike. 'Tain't fast or trick. It's just freakin' GORGEOUS to look at and MARVELOUS to ride. I must say that Jim has instilled the fear of the sidestand gods in me. For this I thank (and curse) him. Productivity at the office is way down. I've got S2 on the brain. -Saro |

Congratulations on the S2. I have no doubt it will be a long lasting love affair. Henrik |

Any time someone was getting off the S2 after sitting on it they would flinch for a second and I'd have to reassure them "Yeah, it's supposed to lean that far". |

Congrats! Glad to hear from someone who shares the passion. Ten years and I'm still not entirely comfortable with the kick stand. I must admit I do leave her in gear sometimes. Best wishes! |

I still want the kick stand fix so that it doesn't lean that far, and want to rock forward.....the only thing I would change on the bike.....someone makes new sideplates that changes the kickstand lean.....rex |

Biggest near fumble..... I'm not used to living with a bike with the little bit of steering lock the S2 has. I was doing a u turn and was rudely awakened...... Luckily, the right hand and right foot intervened and I was only slightly embarrassed. The bike needs the steering head adjusted, the primary tensioner updated, and I'm pretty sure I felt some warp (very slight) in the front rotor. After that, I plan on examining the whole sidestand situation. The Aaron Wilson bend is one option. I noticed someplace that SOMEONE has a pic of an S2 with a sidestand coming out under the motor. I'm curious a bout that. Life is good - except I'm not riding my S2! -Saro |

Make sure you always park in gear so your bike won't be tempted to roll away.Try swapping your pads from side to side, seems to help that pulsing, usually not the rotor esp on a low mile S-2.Just imagine,no sidestand switch to go bad,no clutch interlock, and that simply amazing idea--self cancelling turn signals!! |

Amen FiremanJim, I did some demo rides this past Saturday on the new Buells, blinking all the way. I'm just spoiled I guess. Plus, I have actually used the emergency flashers while riding in the parade on the Annual HOG Toy Run. |

Honestly, I LOVE 1" controls but I can't STAND the HD style turn signals. Isn't the right hand busy enough with throttle and brake? This is probably my greatest ergonomic complaint with my FXD - and now with the S2. I mean, I've logged like 35k miles on the Dyna and, though I'm used to it, I still think it's not right. I am obviously quite willing to live with it. :-) -Saro |

All my early bikes came factory equiped with semi-organic, gravity-activated self-cancelling turn signals. My newer bikes have all been equiped with the same system, but I usually use the buttons instead. AL Congrats on the S2 Saro - lets take a ride up the Crest before the snow flies up there! |

So the sidestand gods decided to send a warning to me this morning...... This is the first time I've ridden my S2 to my downtown LA office. A chummy security guard was asking me about my bike as I was headed down to the roach coach to pick me up some grease. With breakfast in hand, I see the security guard has walked out the underground parking and has come to tell me how heavy my bike is. I decide to walk past my bike and notice that the sidestand is pretty far back. WTF! I pick up the bike roll it forward to take up the driveline slack (which I'd done when I parked!), and tried my best to not pummel the guy. He quickly forgot about telling me how heavy the bike was. This guy also seems to think oil leaks flow uphill - but that's a whole other issue. -Saro |

So was there a trapped baby in a burning car that mandated him touching your S2?!? If it happened to me...he'd understand that touching someone's motorcycle w/out permission or emergency is a bad thing. DAve |
