My 99 X1 has only covered 18000ks as it is my favorite bike and only gets used weekends.Have 2 other bikes that do the hack work.I am wondering what sort of mileage a well serviced X1 can expect to get before any major work is required.Mine gets ridden ridden reasonably hard and does the odd track day. So far it has been 100% reliable apart from a rockerbox leak.Has anyone covered 100000ks? | ||

Mine is up to 62000 miles which is 100192KM. | ||

I have 16,000 miles on mine. no track days yet, but lots of canyons and only weekend riding. I dont ride easy. Only problem I had that I didnt cause was voltage regulator and air intake sensor. | ||

I see that I didn't enter in enough detail here. The first year it was the least reliable. Warped front rotor, leaking rear shock, various leaks. (all covered under warantee) The original battery broke internally at 14,000 miles leaving me on the side of the road in Arkansas. After 20,000 miles, it calmed down a bit. My kickstand idiot switch died at 35,000 My crank seal (between the primary and engine) went at 44,000. My clutch cable went at 52,000 and the clutch itself at 56,000. My headlight bulb burned out at 58,000. I am on my original rear isolators but I check them every time I wash the bike. Various things leak periodically like the rocker boxes. The crank vent WILL ALWAYS puke babysnot so I routed the hose to under the bike. I really don't beat on it much and it has never seen a racetrack. I do however seem to get it over 100 pretty much every time I drive it. | ||

That does not seem to bad Nate,I could live with those problems over that mileage.Reading over the various posts on different sites it seems the the X1 is a bit fragile! But the basic design seems good and at least it easy to work on (motor).I find it difficult not to ride this bike pretty hard as it seems happiest between 3500 and 6000rpm.Make sure I never over rev it though as apparently they dont like it,it is very hard not to do this on the track.Wecviper you will love your bike on a tight track, its very very addictive and makes you want a 100 cube S&S and a baker 6 speed. | ||

Mine is still low miles but has ticked 1000 miles since going off the road into a bean field. Cost me 1100 bucks trueing pm wheels and fixing body work problems. I didnt have to touch the drive train. Frame suffered only bent tabs for the tail section. Very hilarious , no cops no accident report and im lucky to be alive i was going about 55+. Bike flipped in ditch and layed down skidding across to the other side of the road  My friends were in shock as I got up and started looking for parts with blood all over me. After 1000 + miles we glide down the road in furious vengeance !!!!!!!! | ||
