Hey Guys,

Coming home from riding last night and I noticed a squeak coming from the tension pulley.Belt seems in good condition, pretty sure it's the pulley, I'll know for sure after work once I get it on the stands.Just curious if it's common for the bearings in the pulley to crap out...Bikes only got 4500mi....
Anyone know the bearing numbers for that pulley, as I'm also waiting on my manuals to come in.
Thanks

Fullpower has the number here somewhere. Quick search should turn it up.

The idler pulley on the 2003's are recommended to be replaced at 15,000 miles along with the belt. IIRC it's $90 if you buy the whole shebang from HD. If you can press the bearings out should be much cheaper.

I'm guessing, don't sweat it! Mine has done this almost from day one, especially noticeable when pushing the bike backwards. I think there is an "expansion" thing happening when the belt gets warm (i.e. after a ride), and it may be rubbing on the metal plate (which you cannot see) on the inside belt edge. On my second belt (changed the first one at the recommended interval), and it makes the same noise as the first one.

Mine does it sometimes when I push it backwards. However, it doesn't do it all the time.

Once in a blue moon mine does the same. I have 18,700 miles on the belt so I'm not worried about it.
