Hey Badwebs, What is the full setup for some bar ends on the City X? I am ready to get some. Can anybody advise some good ones to get, where, and everything I will need? Thanks, Greg |

Greg...If your talking mirrors then go to www.rei.com or any bicycle shop. You can get some like this for about $5.99.

I use the Cateye mirrors and have for years. They also are in the 5.00 range. They will not brake because they are 100% plastic. Are legal for trackdays once you prove they are not glass. You can get them at any bicycle shop. |

WOW black sunshine it must be really hard to ride with all that weight coming off the left side of your bars! |

Just drill a hole in the bar end plugs, and get a longer screw for the cat-eyes, and they will mount right up with the handguards. |

That does look like the weights are hanging off the bike. Cool optical illusion. Thanks for the advice on the mirrors everyone. Greg |

I tried the "Third Eye Mirrors" & I did not have a good experience with them...they vibrate like hell (couldn't tell if it was a cop or a Ferrari behind me)...and I had both mirrors fall out of the plastic. I ended up buying the CRG mirrors...rock solid! |

I've had real good luck with the Third Eye mirrors. They don't vibrate like the stockers at all. They are plastic but are solid. I actually cracked the mount piece when I was installing (user error) and super glued it back together and it vibes less than the other one. Inexpensive as well. If you want the CRG's but can't afford them these will hold you over nicely. |

Mine went right in. No problems. Here is another angle of them. For 30.00 total, you can't beat em. Of course I would eventually like some crg's, but I am not sure if they adapt just like these? Take care. Greg |

Oh and yes, they work well. All I could see in my stock mirrors were my shoulders. Now I can actually see behind me. If you want a cost effective set of bar end mirrors, then these seem to work nicely. Greg |

Yeah, I took the handguards off a while back. I kind of miss them a little. I might put them back on, but I would have to adapt them. |

KYbueller, Those look good. I have a cityx too, and wanted to put some bar ends on as well. Have you tried to removed the mounts for the handguards? The ones that are at the break and clutch levers? I see that they are still there, just wondering if you have tried to remove them. I tried to get mine off, but they wouldn't budge, so before I trashed them, I stopped. Ratyson, I have not tried to take those off. I might see if mine will move any. I'll see later when I get home, and then let you know. Greg |

Got mine off eBay for $8 ea. http://cgi.ebay.com/Third-3rd-Eye-Bicycle-Bar-End-Mirror-New_W0QQitemZ7189168741 QQcategoryZ7295QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem There are good instructions to mount them with the CityX handgaurds in the KV. Basically ya need a 3" bolt to take the place of the one that comes with the mirror a couple of washers and drill a hole in the barend plug in the handle bars. If I can do it anyone can. Oh ya WD40 to lube the inside of the bars when inserting. We all know what thats about. (Message edited by madsx on October 13, 2005) |
