I read a post on another forum where the person stated that they had heard that some Buell Blasts came from the factory with some missing oil passages in the heads. I did not find any reference to this, nor have I ever heard it. I called BirdPoop on his statement but promised a bit of research on the subject. As usual no references or details were given for the rumor. Anybody ever hear this one? |

Essentually arn't they the same heads used in some of the V twins? and wouldn't they have the same problem as they are made the same place?

The Blast head is like the Lightning heads - except that the casting is different to handle the difference in how it attaches to the tie bar behind the front / only head. Either way, this is also the first I'd heard of this. It'd be nice to get a trace on the origin of this before it is spread further. -Saro |

I do not believe for a second that a bike with missing oill passages would leave the Buell factory. If you have taken a factory tour, you would agree with me. They all have missing oil passages... If we're talking about the oil breather passages that are in the Sportsters. James |

I'd never heard it either, that's why I asked youz guys. I don't think it has spread at all, since no amount of internet searching could turn it up. I think it was just one person passing along a silly statement they had heard awhile ago. Even if i asked this guy directly I don't think he'll be able to tell me where he heard it. I wouldn't worry about it. Steve |
