Oh Man did you miss a good time Mike! The BRAG event was a HOOT! The roads on the official route were about as twisty as rt 207 from Stewart to Cambell Hall, but we found better ones in West Virginia. Not too many things to do when you weren't on the rides, but we managed to have a "savage" time despite that. I think Rich S. is going to build a 250 tire rigid framed Violator/Buell chopper after this trip. He was truly inspired! We hung out till all hours of the morning on thursday, we witnessed the beverage hauling capacity of a Ulysses, the proper way to build a second floor loft, learned all of the potential uses of an "easy leaker", and learned all about the physics involved in projectile vommiting as illustrated by the fellow out on rt 40. I personally took the opportunity to do some off-road moto-crossing on my prototype model XB9RR (firebolt long), and Gomo nearly converted his S3 into a unicycle while on I-81. By the way, that "Buffalo Don" Gomo is a NUT! he kept taking his balls out in front of everyone and as I recall, he even let Seth play with his balls. On Friday, Brag kindly provided us with a complimentary bike wash and breakfast. Soon afterward I reached my fun limit and proceeded to head back to Orange County NY shortly before noon. My 6 hour saturation ride nicely wrapped up the trip and gave me time to reflect on some of the awesome moments I had at the "Appalachian Adventure" P.S. Camelbacks Rule!!! |

Glad to hear all returned safe. I left this morning at about 9:30 and rode the monsoon all the way home. It poured and never let up. It's the first time I ever really got so wet, everything just soaked right through. It took me about 6hrs to do the actual traveling(400miles), but I did stop three times for hot fluids - it was 35f going over the hills in PA. Fritz - you could be a romance writer with the way you wrote about the trip. I did get some short rides in on Friday between some rain, went to the 50's diner for dinner (it was a good place to hang once again), then did the bar/parking lot hang for the rest of the evening. All good stuff......... till next time |

I had a great time with everyone. The scenary was nice getting lost was great and its a tie between Savage cycles and watching Saintly do the 50' Baja was the best!!! I f I only had a video camera. That was awesome. He looked like he was riding a bull at the rodeo. After he managed not to totally loose it, All I could do was laugh. Listening to Don tell the Buffalo Don story was very entertaining. He has fuzzy balls taht glow!! Hanging with the fellow Buellers and the guys from American Iron Thursday night/morning was a blast. It would have been better if the roads had a lot more tight turns in them. We just hauled instead. I guess thats why there was no one there when me and Saintly got back. They did encourage people to discover roads in the area. BRAG doesn't want any newbies eating asphalt. The seminar was cool. I enjoyed hearing about how Buell thinks and operates. The hotel was nice and the restaurant had good food too. As we departed ways that nasty rainy morning, I headed toward Brookeville Md. The ride there was going to suck anyway you looked at it, so I said a prayer and did 80 down the straits and 55 on the turns. All went well except for geting wet and my tank bag moving aroud. I knew I should have bolted it down!!! The ride home was 4 1/2 hrs on 95 and the NJ turnpike.. I wanted to beat the rain so it was 80 to a 100 the whole way. Almost got away with it until CT. Time to put on rain gear. I would go again and will be waiting for next year. Hope you all can go. We would have a great time. |
