I am working on a Buell RR/RS/S2 registry and would appreciate any feedback from you folks. It would live on my web site www.davegess.com and would initially be a listing of every bike and where they are now. Here is what I envision. Feedback of any sort is welcome. First, while there would be a public list of some very minimal information there would also be a members only listing that would be more complete. The public list would have year, model, bike number (not the VIN just the last 3 digits), where the bike currently lives(state or country), what it is used for, brief history of the bike, and owner’s name and nickname. The owner could choose to leave any but the first 3 and the history off the public list. The members only list would also include additional info IF the owners choose to have it be visible to the other members. The additional info would be phone number and city the bike lives in. It would also include pictures and owner comments about the bike. I would require that any prospective members provide me with the VIN and engine serial number so I could verify that they actually own the bike they say they own. This information would not be kept on-line. What do you all think? Ideas? |

Actually if ai have th eyear of manufacture and the last 3 digits I can figure it out. I am sure many people can. I want it to verify that a person really does have the bike. Not 100% reliable but at least a bit of a help. |

Actually I just saw your site and agree it should be there... not BWB... however still think you should include S1s.... |

Great idea! I don't know much about my RS before my friend Skeeter bought it and did the mods, but I'm real good at creating great sounding but unverifiable history! I do know that it was originally sold by Spitzy's H-D in Schenectady NY, cause it still has the sticker on the top triple clamp! Would you have the bandwidth to include bike photos too? It would be great to see pics of these bikes. AL |

Not an S2 (or older) owner, but glad to see someone's picking up the ball, Dave. I expect someone else will take care of the S1/S3/M2's once you set the standard. I'm willing to do the listing but can't support the storage space to support pics. |

Dave, I know that Aaron Wilson had a good start on an RR1000 owner's list a couple of years ago. He may be of help in this regard... HellBuelly J '95 S2 (the Nazgul) '05 XB12R (the Nameless) "Old age is the most unexpected of all the things that happen to a Buellie." --Leon S2-T(rotsky) |

What about the S-1? They were built right along side the S-2! |

Dave: We'll talk. I have (finding it may be a different thing) the contacts for the Italian RR club. It would also be intesting to link a .pdf of the original build sheet to each bike. I've provided evveryone on Badweb a copy of their build sheet showing who built the bike and when. If we decide to do this, I'll see if I can get her to help. This will be perfect for your site. I am embarked on a Buell project currently and see a tie. We'll talk. |

>>>IS THIS TRUELY POSSIBLE? No. I've helped out as many owners of "old" (pre 1994) Buells as possible. It involves some digging and looking on the part of a very busy person. But, it's always interesting to see the little "what makes this bike differnet from every bike in the world" notes scribbled on the bottom and then the BUILT BY: _______________ signature. The "new" Buells have, needless to say, gone high tech. I maintain a file with stuff like day built, shipped, to whom, anything notable, what wheels, etc. But, the sheer numbers make it tough to sort through. It has, some of you recall several years ago when John bought the "low mileage 1998 S1WL", yeilded shome hilarious "my bike has been WHERE?" stories. Remind me to tell you sometime......

I still have, and ride, my RS, that I bought new. I know where it's been. Some of you have seen it. 043 Dave G., I still have a t-shirt that I bought from you at Daytona, in '92. I should wash it. |

I remember having a chat with Rich a few years back. Bumped into him at the Orlando Buell store, late '00 or early '01. We was discussing his RS and the S3 with the custom exhaust that rolled in. |

Rich, If memory serves the last time I saw you was at the Deal's Gap adventure. It has been WAY too long. I really miss seeing the real old-school Buell riders - John Mikash, Rich and all the others - at Buell/BRAG events. 1313 |
