Reindog - That was a decoy card. The images are safely archived. Awaiting payment prior to commencing deletion process. I believe that significant number of brain cells (considering how few we took up with us) may have died and ended up at the bottom of the lake. |

Didn't see much "show" I guess we didn't stay late enough, passed thru the lodge early and stopped again on our way back out. My "sporty" gal and I went for a Sunday drive not a ride, in a silver grey Honda Civic. We were back to Paso by 11-ish Sunday night. came in from the south all the way thru up to Cedar Grove and back out the way we came in. Saw a few bikes running around I assume might have been some of you, looked like fun. Oh well, someday maybe. Glad you all had a ball. |

Jerry....honestly...Ok...2.5 pics of me sleeping with my bald head? Well, I was just gearing up for my second wind...which I got of course! As usual, Denise and Jerry put on a first class ride and rolled out the hospitality. From their fabulous house, called the "Dome", where the view is really a million dollar view, we were off to some of the best roads in mid-California. Roads that have free-range cattle milling around, to the twisties. The best part, to me, is one road where we know that is cool and safe to crank it up...shall we say, with "go to jail" speeds. As a resident of SoCal, I can tell you how free this feels...free of cops, free of traffic...just U and the road. Thanks Jerry for that road! It is a love hate relationship with me and Yokohl Dr. It beats the heck out of me, but that straight a-way is worth the price of admission. But more so, as we rode and chatted, ate and drank, the frienships that have grown out of all of this (Buells, no Buells, friends, etc.) is what it all about. TBear...nice to have U fly out from Colorado, along with your other super cool and friendly other half, Sandy. Dino...great seeing and riding with U again. Thanks for "sweeping". U R a 1st class act. Give my best to Char. Let's see...can't forget the Military. Army, Navy, and Marines were represented. To hear them banter back and forth is just too much fun. Duc, U are always welcome back in CA...Even if U R Army..."retired"..at what..38!? I only wish! Glen...the Unibear...thanks for working all night, sleeping like a cat (cat naps) and guiding T-bear and I over the "Lions Trail" in the day time. Great road! Thanks. BBStacker (and I thought U were stacking a Daisy BB Gun), nice seeing you. Too bad U had to get back to LA so soon. Viros, Don Sabatino (have I got a SUV for U), Sparky and Steve B., we missed U guys. And finally, to my friends E-bear, Al, Joanne, Zack, Tom and Lauri...stay cool. Great riding with U and ALL. Scott - Thanks, but no thanks necessary. Had a ball riding with you Sunday and again on Monday. I'm looking forward to next time we get together! Char says hi to all! |

Yeah...funny...For those whom WERE NOT there....On one of my runs up to Ferris,as I got up on him he reached back and gave me the hand signal "your turn signal is on"....causing me to slow down to look....it will only work ONCE....next time it'll be "reach over and hit kill switch" probably.....

hey, it may be an FJR and all, but riding two-up and loaded against all these one-up whippersnappers on their XB12's and Tuonos and FZ1's and keeping them BEHIND me is not getting any easier! (well, in Dino's case it's ALWAYS been easy...) (had to throw that last one in so he'll start posting the embarrasing pix of me, which, hopefully, will lead to him posting the embarrasing pix of everyone else!) hence the occasional dirty trick. FB ps: per Bertman's recommendation, next year i'll be riding three-up, just to give everyone a fighting chance... |

as long as you then post embarrasing pix of everyone else. Scott thinks he's off the hook with the three that i posted, but you and i know that was just an appetizer. |

Ebear: Unlucky for me that straightaway came up when it did or I'd have made that pass stick. Jerry: Yeah neither of us were on Buells and you were two-up, but it was still a point of pride for me to be able to be close enough to see you put your sidestand down at the end of the legs. Sure beats you having your helmet off looking up the road when I finally come into sight. Danny 95 S2 02 V-Strom 06 WhoTheHellKnows |

I had a grand time, as did Joanne and Zach, up until the crash. For those reading that haven't heard, Joanne low sided her SV650 on the way out of Kings Canyon on a sandy corner at about 25MPH. She hit her shoulder and head pretty hard, had a mild concussion and a pretty beat up upper torso. She went to the doc today, and this is what they found: 6 weeks in a brace, no surgery. The doc couldn't feel the break from the outside and was very surprised to see the xray. Yup, Oktoberfast2005 is over...no more Buell events this year, so it's time to start looking forward to.... DIRT BIKING SEASON!!!! Now we just gotta get that Ferris guy to buy a dirt bike so that we can lead him all over for a change. Thanks for all the hospitality, Ferris and Denise! Hey all! Just got in from San Diego. It was great catching up on the posts so far. I may have a few pics worthy of posting. I had a blast and owe a special thanks to Dino who hung with Eliz and let me go "play" on day one. I don't get away often so you can't know what that meant to me. The itch has been scratched... FB & D thank you so much for being who you are!!! Way cool! (Did you get the present Eliz left ya yet???" (Al, just caught your post...) I'm glad she's ok! Joanne, heal well!!! Joanne, you are awesome. still can't believe you rode back to Montecito afterwards. heal quick, and thanks for being who you are. CB and Eliz, yes, found the note and the snapped foot peg. now then, SPILL THE BEANS!!! yes, Danny, i forgot about that pesky V-Strom on our arse all day Saturday. good thing i knew the roads! Al, when we go dirt biking, do i have to ride three-up??? finally got the garage cleaned up, lots of recycling to do tomorrow. Tiny has finally settled down. we've been dining on leftovers the past few days, including a decent stock of beer. Oktoberfast 2005 may have been the best one yet. the quality of the folks and the riding is what makes it all special, and this year's cast was stellar. there are a lot of pix yet to see (Dino? Forger? Duck? EBear? TBear?), and s'more stories to tell. and how cool that Mr. Dave Barr himself partied with us mere mortals on Friday night? anyway, have been busy working (and cleaning up), and need to get back to telling the FBRAT story, but wanted to take a second to thank EVERYONE who was a part of Oktoberfast 2005. (yep, even you Fireman Jim! ) this gig was as epic as it gets. Ferris & Denise |
