From thier website... TOTAL ENJOYMENT This is the mission of the Pegaso 650 Strada. Lightweight, powerful and with spot-on handling. It loves bends, but firmly believes in versatility. So, if you think that riding should be fun, Pegaso 650 Strada is the bike for you. Exciting, agile, manoeuvrable, dynamic, fast and everything else with it! It is born to devour mountain bends, thanks to superb engine performance and the sort of handling you would only expect from a sports bike. Yet the same machine is amazingly agile around town too. With a total steering angle of 76° (38°+38°), the new Pegaso 650 Strada can dribble through the traffic jams just like the smallest scooter, turning even the journey to work into a fun ride. DESIGN The Pegaso 650 Strada’s unmistakable character, plus the sort of style that has always distinguished Aprilia motorcycles, make the bike instantly recognisable. Aggressive, eye-catching, and clearly Aprilia, the PEGASO 650 STRADA brings sporty elegance to every ride. Its good looks emphasise its light weight and dynamism from the first glance. The bike’s vocation for fun and enjoyment is clear even when it is on its side stand! The sleek, streamlined design of the Aprilia Pegaso 650 Strada declares the bike’s eagerness for sports riding even before the engine starts. ENGINE Liquid cooled, four valve, single cylinder, four stroke, with advanced electronic fuel injection designed for brilliant performance, low fuel consumption and, of course, extremely low emissions. The result is a machine that is fantastic to ride under all conditions. The engine of the Pegaso 650 Strada maintains Aprilia’s traditional dry sump design. What makes it so exceptional is its compact overall dimensions and advanced technology. Its power output of 50 HP (37 kW) at 6,250 rpm is perfect for the Pegaso 650 Strada design concept, that prioritises enjoyable riding. This powerful but flexible engine has an exceptional torque curve and accounts for the dual personality of the bike: mean and aggressive for sports riding, docile and relaxed for daily commuting. The Pegaso 650 Strada has a healthy respect for nature. Like all Aprilia motorcycles it incorporates standard-setting engine technology because fun and enjoyment should not spoil the environment. A catalytic converter keeps emissions down to the threshold of the latest Euro 2 standards. Other features of the Pegaso 650 Strada that deserve special mention are its anti-vibration counter-shaft for smoother running and greater comfort and its single throttle body with a micro-spray injector of the latest generation. CHASSIS A compact, single spar, steel frame is its perfect. Despite its extremely light weight, this frame delivers standard-setting rigidity as well as easy access for maintenance purposes. Great care has been taken over suspension calibration to combine road holding and comfort. The Pegaso 650 Strada is equipped with a robust fork with the largest diameter stanchions in its class (45 mm). Wheel travel is 140 mm. This fork provides the best possible compromise between easy riding, braking control and comfort. A robust anti-twist bridge helps make the front end even more rigid and imparts a feeling of solid reliability unequalled by any other bike. The Sachs gas-filled monoshock at the rear is adjustable in spring preload and rebound. It too is calibrated for maximum control under sports riding conditions without penalising versatility. Rear wheel travel is 130 mm. The Pegaso 650 Strada’s elegant aluminium alloy wheels copy the wheel design of the RSV 1000 R Factory supersports for an even more aggressive look. Wide rimmed wheels and large, road-going tyres (110/70 at the front, 160/60 at the rear) provide plenty of support for the Pegaso’s refined chassis. Great tyre grip and an extended area of ground contact guarantee a sensational ride in total safety. BRAKES The front brake features a mighty 320 mm floating disc with a four-pot caliper, for the sort of braking power and control normally only found on supersport machines. This powerful front brake is assisted by a 240 mm disk with a floating caliper at the rear. The entire braking system has been calibrated for maximum efficiency, power and response. COMPONENTS The Pegaso 650 Strada is equipped with top quality, prestige components, such as the generous, sports style, analog/digital instrumentation to provide you with all the information you need. Alongside the analog rev counter, a large, multifunctional, digital display incorporates an on-board computer to display all essential information. Aprilia Service Centres are equipped with the Axone 2000Ò system to reprogram the on-board computer via the motorcycle’s diagnostics socket. New SW releases and custom display layouts etc. can be loaded when required. The display is extremely secure and easy to use thanks to a practical lever at the handgrip that lets you select the information you want without removing your hands from the handlebars. At your disposal also 2 storage compartments, including one you can open from a switch on the handlebars without having to remove the ignition key, plus an under-seat compartment. Maximum attention has been dedicated not only to performance but to ergonomics and functionality too. The Pegaso 650 Strada has two storage compartments, one in the top of the tank and one under the seat. There is also provision for fitting an elastic luggage net over the passenger seat to carry more equipment on holiday. For your convenience, the tank-top storage compartment is opened by a practical electric push-button on the handlebars. So your small change, mobile phone and motorway tickets are always to hand even with the engine running. The under-seat compartment has a capacity never before seen on this category of motorcycle, and is quite big enough to hold waterproofs and other small objects. COLOURS Two colour schemes enhance the dynamic looks of the Pegaso 650 Strada: Sunset Red and Aprilia Black. ACCESSORIES As can be expected from Aprilia, the Pegaso 650 Strada is complemented by a wide range of dedicated accessories, so you can customise your bike exactly as you want it. You can choose among the adjustable fairing screen, the adjustable front brake lever, the luggage rack, the 28 litre New Concept top box, the 45 litre Street Case top box, the high-tech fabric semi-rigid panniers with lockable security mountings (total capacity 25 litres in closed configuration, 34 litres in expanded configuration), the tank protector and bag in high-tech fabric (with rain hood, capacity 14 litres), the high seat (820 mm). |

Spot on handling with that size rim? Well, I suppose it depends on the spot... Looks like a nice bike, but the forks are upside down... |

The Pegaso has been around since 1993. Looks like Aprilia jumped on the motard bandwagon, is all. Bob |
